We spent one day touring the Willamette Valley, including McMinnville and parts of Yamhill and Dundee. I wish we could have spent more time. You need to get off the main roads to tour the countryside and vineyards. Some of the areas are stunning. Of course, we expected the pinot noirs to be good, but they exceeded my expectations. I liked some of them even better than the vineyards we visited in Bordeaux. (I know there's a lot that's different between the two regions, but these were more to my taste.) Most vineyards are only open from 12-5, give or take an hour, so don't expect to try more than maybe 4 or 5 at the very most. My advice is to take your time and take a couple days. Don't worry too much about trying specific vineyards you may have heard about. There are many, many vineyards that you probably haven't heard about that offer as good, if not better wines. Take it slow, take it all in, and enjoy it ... and stay sober if you're driving!!

10 of us were in the Willamette Valley for a wedding over Labor Day weekend. We used the free day before the festivities to employ Grape Escape Tours to guide us to 3 uniquely different wineries. They had a progressive appetizer platter to pair with our tastings. Bill, our driver/guide did a great job with our group. We had a lot of fun with him.

We were on a cycling vacation through the Willamette Valley and Mt. Hood areas. The scenery and rolling hills, all green in July, were absolutely beautiful!

Went to do some wine tasting in the Valley, around McMinnville and Dundee. Beautiful land with vineyards on hills providing vistas of the area. Quaint towns without glitz of the modern era.
