Surprised by the gorgeous scenery some spots reminding me of Umbria Italy and pleased at the variety of wineries ranging from small quaint funky to sophisticated elaborate and most produce fantastic wines. In addition to wineries there are an abundance of Hazel Nut Farms, a Lavender Farm, Olive Oil Tasting and great little eateries. The 99 is a wonderful road to start your journey upon!

The Willamette Valley is some of the most coveted wine country in the world, and it is just outside my doorstep. And even though Thanksgiving Weekend is always crazy, it is still worth every minute. We visited so many wineries, and loved them all. Pinot nior for everyone!

This is where all those pioneers who trekked along the Oregon Trail were heading: some of the most beautiful and productive farmland in the whole U.S.A. And now with vineyards and wine cellars!

This area, and the Yamhill Valley are not-to-be missed day trips from Portland. Wine, wine, and more wine, what more can I say? Each little tasting room has its own flair. The limo trips look interesting, though I've never taken one--luckily I have a DD--watch for one on Groupon and go for it.

I was surprised by the wineries here, very good wine.... try the uncorked cafe for great lunch. Going in the fall is nice, all the vines turn bright yellow. Our favorite winery was Coelho winery.
