“The perfect spot to stay!”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Cherokee Rose Inn for three nights and loved it. Sandy is extremely kind and personable and makes fabulous breakfasts, and the room we stayed in was very spacious, comfortable, and the perfect spot to relax in after a day of seeing the sights of Portland. The location is great; we were able to walk to a variety of shops in the area and, with the complementary bus passes provided during our stay, we were able to get on the buses to explore even further. Staying here really made our trip that much more enjoyable.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights with Sandy and it was absolutely perfect! The location is a couple minutes walk from great coffee, snacks, and dinner. It's a really close to the very convenient bus lines that make navigating the awesome neighborhoods of Portland simple. The room was big and cozy. The hospitality was warm (as was the fireplace on a rainy spring night) and the breakfast was always topnotch! We will definitely return!

Sandy was the perfect host. She was kind enough to both pick us up and drop us off at the airport. There was even a plate of freshly baked cookies waiting for us when we got there.

The house is beautiful and conveniently located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood. A plethora of coffee shops, breweries, restaurants and parks are located nearby. Breakfast was delicious and the room was quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Sandy and her lovable menagerie greeted us warmly upon our arrival, provided cozy accommodations during our stay, and really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The Cherokee Rose is a beautiful Arts and Crafts bungalow (don't let the designation fool you - it's spacious!) incredibly well-situated in SE Portland's hip Belmont neighborhood; vegan bicycle-friendly bar The Sweet Hereafter, A La Carts food pavilion (food trucks!), and Oblique Coffee (of recent Portlandia fame) are all a short walk or ride away. Sandy is a longtime vegan, and as fellow vegans, we were thrilled to find her; The Cherokee Rose is the only dedicated vegan Bed and Breakfast in Portland! The rooms are very comfortable, the living room has a cozy fireplace and lots of comfy seating, and Sandy has coffee, tea, and homemade snacks always at the ready. Breakfast was a superb vegan blueberry coffee cake, and our fellow guests were fun to chat with. Our visit was such a delight, we even became engaged a few days after leaving The Cherokee Rose. Whether or not you're a vegan, don't miss the chance to stay at the Rose when you visit the Rose City.
