We stumbled on mi mero mole early in 2012 while looking for a lunch spot on a sunday (not an easy task, as it turns out!). I remember we had a quesadilla with fresh asparagus and a strawberry cucumber agua fresca, which were both excellent. We've been back regularly since then to sample the constantly changing menu. If i were asked to recommend mexican food in portland, this would be it, hands down. I don't claim to be any sort of expert with this cuisine, but the thoughtful menu options and the quality of the food speak for themselves. Everything I've tried here has been excellent, whether a familiar dish or something completely new to me. Most recently, the butternut squash mole, chiles en nogado and smoked turkey tails were standouts, as were the albondigas.
We recently started attending the weekly tequila tastings offered by the owner, Nick. We have enjoyed these immensely...i highly recommend signing up for their newsletter to find out about their special events that happen throughout the month. We attended a christmas dinner recently with several friends and coworkers, and it felt like a private family dinner. Yummy food and great people!
