The crew there was incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations, food and beer.
Beer = The Flat Tail - El Guapo was great for a hot summer day, and had a nice light but spicy finish. And likewise, the Freemont Summer Ale as up for the challenge on the nearly 100 degree days.
Food = Our team had a little variety, the never to be missed double burger, the greek wedding (just the right amount of zing to it) and the Alabama.
The breads/rolls all stood up to the piled high sandwiches and the garlic fries were a great compliment to any meal.
The servings are pretty generous and easy to share.

While on vacation in Portland, my husband and I cancelled our reservation at a swanky place when we drove by Lardos. It was the best decision! They have a good beer selection; my husband particularly enjoyed the Sticky Hands IPA. The pork bahn mi was so full of flavor with succulent meatballs and crispy fresh pickled veggies for a nice contrast and a little heat from the sriracha. The fries were also terrific with Parmesan cheese and fried herbs; unlike any we'd every had. This place is definitely worth a visit!

I saw a great rating for this restaurant on TripAdvisor. I decided to give it a try, for I never have been there before. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the large crowd and fast, friendly service. However, the food had a disappointing taste. I did find the creativity of the sandwiches and fries to be amazing. Unfortunately, my sandwich and fries were unpleasantly salty. The salt took over the flavor of the food itself. However, this doesn't mean I won't try it again. I don't judge a restaurant based on one-time experiences. I will give this place another shot soon enough.

Lardo hands down sets the standard for sandwiches in this food crazy city. Inventive combinations, like griddled mortadella, quality, locally sourced ingredients, bread to die for, rotating taps of craft beer, and indoor and outdoor seating. Wonderful!

Although I opted for the amazing Lebanese restaurant next door, I ended up eating bites of entries ordered by four friends. The pork was tender and flavorful. The french fries were my favorite: Rustic. And the salads were huge, although one had only a trace of dressing.
