This place serves incredible, off-the-beaten-path ice cream. It's definitely worth braving the lines (and maybe the rain while you're waiting outside) to try some of this.

The is a very popular ice cream parlor be prepared to wait 10-20 min. Well worth the wait. We will definitely visit each time we are in Portland. All ice cream is homemade with bazaar flavor a you would never dream of. (You can also order online and have delivered to your home) :)))))))

We attended an evening wedding in Portland and my wife mentioned the Salt and Straw. It didn't sound appealing to me, but for my wife... well her wish is my command. We got to the shop around 9pm and the line was around the corner (75+ people). We waited and eventually made it inside. Once close to the counter a Server introduces themselves and invites you to taste whichever ice cream you choose. They return with little metal spoons and you sample away. They will let you try every single one and are very patient and polite, I would even say they made the experience even more fun. I was great to see they even made the waffle cones right there too. We ended up with the salted caramel and the gooey brownie. The salted caramel was the best.

We will be visiting again very shortly!

the wait staff was so friendly offering lots of samples. we had two flights and enjoyed the olive oil surprisingly good, the strawberry with balsamic and pepper (pepper not that noticeable) hit the spot, almond toffee ganache was okay. the chocolate wood block good. I don't care for snickerdoodle but the others liked it. I loved the pear and gorgonzola. there was some beer related ice cream also, and a salted caramel thing

the place filled up after and maybe we got more samples because we were there before the crowd

This ice cream shop came highly recommended and when we saw the line up we thought we must be in for a treat. The menu has many unique selections but the ice cream itself was a disappointment. We shared a cup of salted ice cream with caramel swirl and a Auntie's brittle. The brittle was best but neither was outstanding. Lampert's in Hawaii blows this place away. Nice to visit and try but not our favourite.
