Small, cozy, amazing food, friendly and knowledgable wait staff. Meats are their specialty. Lamb is divine.

June chefs are so inventive that we can't wait to get back there to try more of their fascinating menu items. They're very seasonal and local, so we'll have to get back soon before they change the menu.
We've been there twice and tried at least one item from each course each time. It's difficult to describe the genius of the chefs because every item is a perfect composition of tastes and textures, but nothing is even similar to the fare in other chef-driven restaurants. Portland is food heaven, but June is still at the top of the list.
Some amazing examples from this month's menu: chilled beet soup with pickled salmon, creme fraiche, and ice plant (!!); Grilled Lobster Mushrooms with corn, watermelon, and small Padron peppers; Local pig's head seared with chanterelles, husk cherries, and shell beans; and one of the best desserts we've ever been served in a restaurant-- fresh corn ice cream sandwich in a crispy corn cookie with dark chocolate sauce and huckleberries.
And did I mention the inventive cocktail list? Once again, June intrigued us with combinations of flavors we couldn't even have imagined.
And then there's the well-selected wine list. The staff are very good at suggesting wine and food pairings.
There isn't anything that strikes an off note here. Even the design is well done and uses local artisans and local products.
Using the Michelin categories, June is worth a special trip.

This small restaurant on E. Burnside is under visited. I've been twice now and the food is really very good, along with an excellent wine list. Recommended highly.

We had drinks and appetizers here the other night. The wine and cocktail list was very nice, and our server was friendly and attentive without being annoying. I liked the space - very strong Portlandia vibe, in a good way. The menu is pretty cutting edge and interesting. A little expensive though and nothing really on the menu that sort of linger over and have drinks. Everything was very much A Beautiful Meal. I'd recommend as a date night for foodies
