We were flying back to Anchorage, Alaska from San Diego on March 31, 2009. We were stopped in Portland due to the volcano going off in Alaska. We didn't know where we were going to stay and it was already in the evening and we had our little dog, Yoda, to make matters worse. The Alaska Airlines called the La Quinta Inn for us and they took us right in and gave us a discounted rate. They shuttled us and our dog to their hotel and then shuttled us later to and from the restaurant for a dinner. They gave us free tooth brushes, razors, tooth past and shaving cream. We can't say enough of how wonderful they were. The staff was excellent, They treated us very well and we really appreciated the fact that we had a place to go when we were stranded.

Chose this hotel based on proximity to the airport, and overall was pleased with the 1-night stay. Check-in was quick and the clerk was friendly. The room was small, with not much room to get around the king-size bed...but just being me for a single night, it was all that I needed. The room was clean and I had no problems with the wireless internet. The hotel was quiet, which was impressive given my location right next to the elevator. The only noticeable noise was an occasional airplane making its approach to the airport, but of course that was only noticeable until about 11 pm, and to be expected staying next to the airport. Was in a hurry in the morning, so didn't get a chance to thoroughly check-out the continental breakfast, but it seemed like a decent selection of fruits, pastries, and beverages. Overall, other than the small room size, no complaints. The price is reasonable for the quality of the rooms and the convenience of location.

We spent one night last week at the LaQuinta Inn at Portland Airport.
We had a great night’s sleep and enjoyed our one night's stay here. We were a very late arrival and called the shuttle to pick us up. They were very prompt. The driver was very friendly and helpful. Our room had a king sized bed, very comfy. There was a microwave and fridge. The room was spotless. I base many of my reviews on cleanliness by how clean the shower curtain liner is. You know how things can grow on those! This bathroom liner was spotless, not one hint of mold/mildew. Our only complaint about the room was that at 5AM the next-door neighbor turned the shower on and it was VERY loud..so the walls are a bit thin but nothing that kept us awake.

The complimentary breakfast buffet was fresh and had many choices. Make your own waffles; there were hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, bagels, biscuits and gravy, and more.
The hotel staff, along with the shuttle driver, the hotel desk clerk (I wish I could remember his name) was very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.
For a rate of $80 (AAA) this was a real find. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

This hotel was an excellent value for what we received.

The room was large with an extra sofa bed that we hadn't even counted on. The room was clean, the decor nice and cheery. The bathroom was also spacious and very clean.

The breakfast were also a deal, with a wide variety of breakfast items, and waffles you make yourself. The waffles are really good!

The staff are pleasant and helpful. The only glitch we ran into was when the room wasn't cleaned when we had returned from the zoo. The staff quickly took our trash and used towels, apologizing profusely for the oversight.

The only thing I think they could change would be the pool. It's very cold. They should consider making it a heated pool.

Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

It was expensive for a simple place to crash, but it's convenience to the airport and the shuttle service it provides was needed. Very nice rooms.

Stayed in a room with two queen beds, microwave, refrigerator, large television. Accommodations were very clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful, and there was a nice complimentary breakfast from 4 am through 10 am (yes, I said 4 am... for those earlybird flights). Got a great rate on this value hotel through hotwire and was extremely happy. Only complaint was that the person responsible for breakfast let the orange juice and coffee run out. When I told the staff at the front desk, they immediately responded by bringing out two fresh pots of coffee. Shortly afterward, the breakfast staff replenished the orange juice. Airplane noise wasn't a problem, but try to stay on lower level floors-we were on the third level and when semi-tractor trailers went by, you could feel the room shake.

Stayed at the La Quinta for one night on May 17th. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the airport. Very easy to find as it's right off the freeway. Had a room that faced the freeway and was woken up a few times by traffic noise.

A complimentary breakfast is provided but it was hard finding a seat as the dining area is very small and the hotel was fully booked. This also meant waiting a long time for the elevator.

There is a indoor pool and gym but I didn't use those facilities. The room has a mini fridge and microwave for those that wish to save on their food costs. The hotel is good if you need a clean comfortable place to stay.
