“Good Food, A bit pricey”

Ate the brunch here on Sunday. I had the chicken and waffles. It was good, but the portion was a little small for the money. Great looking restaurant inside. Staff was very firendly

“Bustling!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

A great place to try a few appetizers if you are looking for lighter fare and savings.
The wine selection was fair. Seems like a great place for happy hour. Loud, but lovely reclaimed warehouse shabby-chic.

“What a Great Find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Alone in Portland, jetlagged beyond belief, I (literally) stumbled across Irving Street Kitchen when I was taking a walk to clear the cobwebs.
The menu looked great, so I booked a table for early evening. Nice ambience, wonderful host who found me a quiet table and made some recommendations, both for the menu and for what to do in Portland!
Menu standouts included a grilled watermelon salad and THE BEST EVER butterscotch pudding. EVER. I would go back to Portland just for that pudding!
And, when I left the restaurant, leaving my umbrella behind in my foggy state, the host ran down the street after me to hand it over. What a star.

I enjoyed their food and drinks. Dessert was great as well. This is upscale place so it will cost you.

“Come on, live up to your name.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

I have noticed a bit of a trend amongst restaurants in PDX - restaurants that have a lot of hype around them for the most part are really not good at all. As much as I wanted Irving St. Kitchen to fall outside of this category - it did not. Tons of hype and less than average meals are being served here. However, there are a few GREAT things about this place. I absolutely loved the ambience and the serving staff was outstanding. Everyone from the hostess, to the manager which visited our table, to the waiter were pretty amazing. The cocktails albeit pretty expensive (upwards of $11.00 - yikes!) were pretty fantastic. Finally, the desserts were to die for...butterscotch pudding and sage ice cream...wow! I only feel bad that all these things were paired up with the main courses which were pretty forgettable unlike the final bill...
