We let our travel agent book this hotel and she was spot on. We had a front corner room, 6th floor, overlooking the square. It was charming to see the activities taking place, with kids playing in the wading fountain, life size chess being played and any musical groups giving everyone a little lift and enjoyment. Room was great size, bath quite sufficient as well. Lighting over the sink was a bit poor, but if you don't obsess with putting on makeup, it's easily overlooked. Rooms very quiet, even with construction going on across the square. There were two new restaurants just opened and staff was lacking info., so we went else where for dinner. The city is walkable and lets you see all the different sections with different personalities. Don't forget to try Cacao for a serious chocolate experience. We never had a bad cup of coffee or meals! I can't say enough about Portland, so now it's your turn visit.

Room Tip: No need to have a corner room, as possibly there will be an office bldg. and don't need the extra eyes peering in.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now and always enjoy my stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and well equipped, and the location couldn't be better. All the downtown restaurants are close by and the light rail is only a block or two away, making it easy to access from PDX.

I have a great corner room on the 14th floor, very quiet with a view over the city. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large desk and a nice corner chair for reading. The bathroom was fabulous, with a huge shower and a large tub with jets (which sadly I didn't get time to use!)

Room Tip: Higher rooms seem quieter, plus you have a nice view of the city. There's often an event with music going on in Director Park, so if you're an afternoon napper a room at the front might be noisy.

What a lovely experience! Well-appointed rooms, incredibly comfortable beds, friendly staff, beautiful building, ideal location right on Director's Park. I was in town for an annual conference and have already made my reservations for next year.

This property is so easy to get from the airport on the MAX (light rail) - $2.50 fare and a stop barely two (very short) blocks from the stop - and only a block to the stop to return to the airport. The Paramount fronts a public square and is a classically built and refurbished property in the heart of downtown Portland on the edge of the arts district. A block from Portland's largest theatre and walking distance to a plethora of bars, restaurants and coffee spots this hotel is in an excellent location.

The property is clean and extremely well maintained. The rooms are large and the furniture extremely comfortable.

The staff are lovely - from the moment of walking to the door to departure all the staff are most helpful and accommodating.

The on site restaurant and bar are well above the cut of most hotel in house facilities.

We will definitely use The Paramount again.

Room Tip: Overlook the square.

The Paramount Hotel is a great value. Rooms are updated and very clean, including a mini refrigerator and coffee maker. We had a balcony room overlooking the park which was very nice, we could see all the activities of the city right outside our window.

The location is perfect, great local bars and restaurants within 2 blocks and the newly opened restaurant and bar, Swank & Swine, were nice spots with an upscale menu. You'll be within a 10 min walk to the Pearl District and Old Town Portland, no need for transportation. But if you need to get around the hotel is very close to public transportation.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. Benjamin gave great tips for local spots, he nailed it!

Next trip to Portland we're staying at the Paramount Hotel for its location and value.

Room Tip: Lower rooms have options for small balconies to balconies with patio furniture.
