We spent three nights at the Paramount and have no complaints. The room was clean and quiet; the bed was comfortable; the location in the city is ideal. History museum and art museum are very nearby. Powell's bookstore is also within walking distance of the hotel, and public transportation is also nearby and handy. The staff were helpful in giving directions and calling us a cab to the train station.

Our room had a balcony and the view was fine, but since the balcony had no furniture on it (most of them don't, as far as we could tell), we didn't make a lot of use of it and would have been just as happy with a somewhat cheaper room.

Very well positioned in the centre of downtown, for transit trains and buses too, although city centre compact enough to walk around. Front desk staff very helpful. Corner room very plush with large comfortable bed and large bathroom with walk in shower as well as whirlpool bath. Very good TV. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Although room was spacious it was surprisingly lacking in places to store clothes even though we didn't have many. There were just three smallish drawers and a narrow deep wardrobe which was difficult to access easily.

We just enjoyed a fantastic 5 night stay at the Paramount Hotel. Our room (1408) was large,
well furnished, quiet and with a bed so comfortable we found it difficult to wake up each morning. The view of downtown Portland from our corner windows was outstanding. The hotel's location was perfect. Major shopping, museum venues, theaters and many, many dining places were all within easy walking distance. Superb access (within 2 blocks) to the MAX light rail lines and the Portland Streetcar, put all of the city within easy reach. We never needed to use a car! The hotel restaurant "TRE" served an excellent breakfast and was a great place for afternoon cocktails with Asian appetizers. Concierge Dan was very helpful in making advance arrangements and the front desk staff was warm and welcoming. We definitely will return to the Paramount Hotel when we visit Portland once again.

We stayed at the Paramount Hotel on a Sunday and a Monday night. The hotel was pretty quiet overall and our room was spacious and clean. There was a Starbucks across the street for morning coffee and there is a free standing Nordstroms across the road. There was an arts program going on at the stage/park in front of the hotel and it was nice to watch a professional ballet class in the sunshine. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!

We just returned from spending nine days at the Paramount while vacationing in Portland. This hotel fit our needs perfectly. Large comfortable room, great staff and a very convenient location with easy MAX and streetcar access. When you stay here, ask Ed the concierge for advice - he's one of the best!

Vacation was from September 2-7. The doorman was very friendly and helpful with directions. Valet parking was pricy at $29 per night we just included it into our vacation budget so it did not bother us to pay it. It is what it is. The front desk staff (Tina) was so friendly and answered every question we had. Our room was on the 14th floor. No noise from the hallways or guest next door. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and the view was amazing of downtown and the mountains. The bed was very comfortable with very soft sheets and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was large with excellent water pressure. Everything was excellent and I would stay there again. The hotel location is excellent. You can walk everywhere like the parks, museums, shops and places to eat. Excellent public transportation if you want to leave the car at the hotel. We went to Cannon Beach to see Haystack Rock and enjoyed it very much. If you have time it's a great day trip and only an hour drive heading west on highway 26. Also we took a waterfall tour along the Columbia River that was one of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen and I have traveled to many places in my lifetime. The city has some great historical buildings that are a must see and Washington Park that includes the Japanese and Rose garden is well maintained and beautiful. Portland, OR is a great little city that offers so much if you have the time and plan it right.

Room Tip: Enjoy and Relax. Portland is a great city to visit during the summer months.

This hotel is reasonably priced for luxuriously comfortable accommodations in a prime location. I got what I paid for: a large, attractive, comfortable room; a large, comfortable bed; a large bathroom with an extra-large jacuzzi tub and a separate large shower. There was a large TV and free wi-fi. The staff was friendly and helpful.
It's in a great location for exploring downtown Portland. There's Directors Park across the street, where you can relax, with coffee and free wi-fi, there is a big foodcart pod 3 blocks away, Pioneer Square is in short walking distance and there are streetcars 2-4 blocks away, which will take you all over the city.
