“Cheese, wine, beer, AND one of the best green salads of all time”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

I wish I'd ordered two of the green salads - I don't know why it was the best thing ever - the blueberries? The cheese? The fresh greens, or the dressing? Maybe it was the glass of red that accompanied it. I can't believe I waited so long to go to the 'all-my-friends-love-this-place' Cheese Bar that is around the corner from my home. The service is helpful and friendly. The food is great. The selections of cheese and wine are really something. Bus #15 will get you there from downtown Portland. Go for a walk on Mt. Tabor before or after..it's right there.

“Great neighborhood spot with stunning cheese selection & much more.”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

Great for townies and out-of-towners alike. If you are seeking the largest selection of artisian cheese in Portland, possibly the state of Oregon, then come in. Stunning selection of items and the staff is there to let you sample varieties, hand out helpful, firendly advice and make your experience a wonderful one. In addition, there is a great selection of meats. Varied menu, everything from sandwiches, seasonal salads, fondue, snacks and delicious chese and meat boards for sit-down dining, Rotatiing tap of ales, huge selection of bottled beers and a small, but carefully selected wine list. Top it off, some of the more affable and friendly staff you will ever find. It's a real find in an otherwise quiet residential neighborhood. If you are from out of town, it can be nice to stop in for a selection of goodies and head a few blocks up to Mt Tabor Park for walks, city and mountain views. I love this place.

“Cheese specialists”
Reviewed October 4, 2011

In this day and age it is hard to find a place with knowledgeable sales staff. Other places may have cheese for less, but heaven help you if you need advice selecting the right thing or want any choice. Places like this need to be encouraged, or all that will be left is big corporate conglomo-food.

“Cool place.”
Reviewed April 12, 2011

We just went here for a drink and they have a great beer menu. But the food that the other tables were getting looked great! I would definitely go back and get some grub. Plus, they have a great cheese and salami case.
