“Meat Lovers' Dream”
Reviewed June 30, 2012

We went to the location at 107 SE Washington. The place was busy and we didn't have reservations. So, we sat at the bar viewing the chefs and kitchen staff. Which was just fine since they were willing to engage in food conversation while still working extremely hard. We ordered the June $25 three-course meal, which included the Spanish Cocida (chorizo, roasted beef shoulder, ham, chickpeas, and potatoes in a broth along with salsa verde). Awesome! The flavors in this dish were perfect.

“Olympic Provisions NW on Thurman”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

My family members have been to the NW Thurman location of Olympic Provisions twice and told us it was amazing, so we reserved a table for Sunday brunch and were ready for a great experience. We arrived to find they didn't have our reservation, curious, but no problem as were there early and there was room. Although there were several open tables, it took 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee x2 and when the rest of our party arrived, it took them 25 minutes for a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. We begged to order and when our food arrived, the french toast was a delicious brown on the top and horribly blackened and burnt on the bottom. The kitchen made a new order and this one was gooey and raw in the middle. My frittata was heavily salted and my toast burnt. By this time we were all feeling that this was a huge mistake and maybe their lunches were better. We had to ask for a coffee refill, salt and pepper and jam and no one ever asked us how our meal was or checked in on us. We were disappointed. Overall, they have a lovely place and the staff was cordial, but they have some work to do to make customers feel welcome and actually appreciated.

“Wonderful Northwestern Dinner”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

My husband and I try a new restaurant every week while living in SF and like trying the foodie places when we travel too. We were visiting friends in portland who made a reservation here and my husband said it was one of the best meals he's had recently.

It's a cool spot, very northwest and the service is the same, sort of quirky. We ordered family style so we got to try a bunch of different stuff, including the octopus (good but not amazing), the arugula salad (this was so simple, but perfect), we ordered the shrimp dish but we didn't realize until the next day that it never came, not sure if they charged us, then we got the special which I believe was short ribs, or something similar, over polenta, the charcutrie plate (some were better than others), and the chicken. I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, but everything was very good. It was a unique meal, but quality ingredients. The menu wasn't large, and my husband and I are not big fans of small plates, but for the group of 4, it worked out perfectly to split.

Grear charcuterie in Portland, stopped for a beer and appetizer. Sat outside on a wonderful day. Had the chefs selection which did not disappoint. Would recommend this place whole heartedly.

“Tried a new place to eat in Portland”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

We ate lunch at the Olympic Provisions restaurant in SE Portland recently. Bill had the meat plate (5 different crafted charcuterie). He really enjoyed three of them, but not the two sausisons. Not being a big meat eater, I had a lovely salad and some cheese and bread. Very nice. They have a very extensive wine list and also spirits, but it was too early in day for us! Bill ordered iced tea and it came with some sweetener in it, which he doesn't like. He asked for tea without sugar and they didn't have any. Service was a bit slow and it was a little hard to find. We did take a pate/tureen home with us, the one Bill liked most. We would probably eat there again, or maybe try the west-side location.
