I love this place and their tea house. It is my secret place of peace when staying downtown.

You find Lan Su Chinese Garden in a neighborhood with a lot of homeless people in Chinatown.
The garden is small, nice kept, but totally overpriced (9,50 USD each adult). You find a lake in the middle, surrounded by traditional chinese buildings and plants. The day we visited the garden was very crowded, as well as the teahouse. I did not feel like meditation.
We did not stay very long, as you can walk around in half an hour. I would have rated better when it hadn´t been that expensive and crowded. Perhaps I expected too much because of all the good reviews.

Replicating a royal compound, several authentically designed buildings surrounding a lake with authentic landscaping. As compared to the similarly oriental Japanese Garden, this one focuses on the architecture as much or moreso, with vistas from the inside of structures, and furnishings of historical interest. The tea house is a wonderful place to have a bite and relax.

On a cool Sunday Morning in Spring, I can think of few nicer places to be.

This garden is a wonderful peek at China! Having been to the garden in China that it is modeled after, it is almost like being there! A trip to the teahouse is part of the ambiance, but be warned. The tea was great, but the food lacked the flavor one would find in China, especially the noodles.
