Review of Residence Inn Portland Airport at Cascade Station

Great location for the airport, the metro to downtown, and a shopping center with lots of good places to eat only a 15 minute walk or so away. Typical Residence Inn in all respects, but I do not like the liquid soap for the shower. Quiet, good sleeping, good shuttle to the airport with very friendly drivers. I would stay again anytime.More

Comfy and close to the airport!
We enjoyed having a space that seemed more like an apartment then a tiny hotel room. Loved the extras like the fireplace and kitchen in the room!

The front desk was very helpful when we got locked out even in the middle of the night! They worked really hard to make our stay amazing!

Good hotel but housekeeping needs to improve!
Housekeeping and front desk staff need training!
For toiletries they use the standard large containers mounted on wall - shampoo and bath gel were empty - basically had to take a rinse rather than shower. When let the front desk the response was "Oh, that's a common problem here, happens a lot".
Also, they were out of pool towels, so when I went to the front desk to get a towel for my son and husband, as they had been in the pool for a while, the response from front desk was "it will be another 25 minutes before the driver comes back from the airport and he will bring you the towels", and which point I let them know that it was not acceptable as we needed them now. So she ran around the hotel for 10 minutes trying to find some towels and came back with 1 towel, saying the rest were in the wash. She then went into her back office and found some blue towel lying around, and offered that too me.
It is these customer service issues that make a hotel stay pleasant or not.

Great location, excellent service and comfortable rooms
In the past I have stayed at the Residence Inn Downtown Portland, Riverplace, but was tired of paying their high parking fees. I am usually not impressed with airport hotels, but this was an exception. You get free parking and you still have handy access to downtown Portland and Vancouver. An added plus is that the hotel is located at a light rail station and you can be in downtown Portland in 30 minutes. It is also walking distance to a shopping center. The staff provided excellent service. I'm sorry I don't remember his name, but the gentlemen who worked the front desk and ran the evening reception was especially helpful. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the beds were comfortable. We had a view of the roof, but we weren't here for the views! Although close to the airport we didn't notice any noise from the planes. The breakfast was good. Best of all, they are also very pet friendly and there are several areas to walk your dog close to the hotel.

Great service
The happy hour drinks and snacks are a nice added touch for this hotel. The service from Jordan was excellent and super friendly. Kimber’s positive attitude when picking us up at the airport was a great first impression. Thanks to all of the staff there for a great stay.

Basic but Home from home
Staying here for 2 nights and quite enjoying the ‘suites’ feel vs hotel. Room is large with usual kitchen and lounge areas but Air con is very noisy and right by the bed which is an issue. Like sleeping with a cold hair dryer running. Service team are friendly, and the breakfast is pretty good. Fresh and lots to choose from. If it was not for the air con I would give this place another star. Very close to the airport and there are a few fast food places to eat close by and a Target if you need a few items.
