Made contact with a very helpful real estate agent who showed me condos in Pearl District. Loved how walkable the city is. Memorable meals at Bistro Agnes and Southpark Seafood. Weather was great — no rain during all four days of my stay.

Great for walking, lots of shops, cafes, micro-breweries and restaurants in converted warehouse space. Reminded me of the lower east side of NYC, with elevated sidewalks along former loading docks.

Wonderful area of downtown Portland. If you've never wandered the Pearl District, you've missed out!

We never miss hitting the Pearl St. Galleries when we visit Portland. There are world class artists and excellent local artist as well.

Plus there's always Powell Book Store and Whole Foods, both worth spending time enjoying

Walking is the best way to get around in Portland, as there is no free parking anywhere, anytime. The Pearl District is an area with unique-to-Portland stores, such as Keen shoes, just to name one store. Their shoes are on display on a chain-pulled display. Very different. While we didn't completely explore the entire district, I would recommend just walking around and scouting out the varied shops. You're certain to find something that tickles your fancy!
