“Quiet, religious, area for reflection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

We walked the ground level, including the shrine, chapel, information center, and gift shop. These are all free. There is a charge to take the elevator to the upper level. Parking is near-by, but not close to the above places and the elevator. The Grotto is somewhat difficult to find, so use a GPS to drive to it. The free lower ground level provides quiet areas for reflection on our blessings.

This is a MUST do at Christmas time...The lights are OFF THE HOOK.

They have food and beverages, chorus singing and great people watching and a petting zoo during the holidays. take the kids and I bet you go every year after.

“Little eclectic, Catholic outdoor sanctuary, 5 minutes from airport”

Beautiful grounds. Outdoor grotto sanctuary is a easy walk from the parking lot and free. The other walking paths require ticketed admission. Large gift shop and limited cafe items.

“Serene & pretty”

Worth it just to go up the cliff and look out at Portland from way up high. Very quiet, natural, and pretty. We took lots of photos here.

“A peaceful serene”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

What a beautiful set up. Not only is this place a sanctuary, but it's a place to learn. There is the story of Jesus, his crucifixion and resurrection told in the form of stone art. If you are a believer in Christ this is a place to visit while you are in Portland.
