Again we hadn't been to the zoo in quite some time and it had changed as expected. We went on the Saturday before Easter, and with the nice weather, it was packed. Had to park in the overflow lot about a mile away and ride the shuttle. They had Mo the baby otter and Lil the baby elephant, too cute! They were having egg hunts every 20 minutes from 9-3 which attracted a large horde by the amphitheater. Couple of oversights; my 9 year old was grouped in with the family hunt so he was "hunting with small children and they put out enough eggs so everyone got one, if they were lucky. Some of the little kids didn't get any eggs but loose candy instead. One little girl near us was crying because she didn't get an egg so my son gave her his. What a kiddo! Oh, I didn't mention that we waited in line almost 40 minutes...

They have made several changes to the park which are all positive. Because of time constraints we didn't see everything but we did ride the train, always enjoyable.

They had not turned on the water for the drinking fountains yet this season and several of the vending machines weren't filled or working. More $$ at the snack bar...

Do go because it's important for children to learn animal conservation.

Just don't go during the last days of spring break...busy as all get out! Also, if it's lookin busy, then skip the first exit and go to the zoo shuttle parking...that'll save you probably 30 minutes of backed up traffic waiting only to be turned around and told to go there. Lol...

My feet hurt from the long walk. That is not the zoo's fault. Good zoo. Animals must love it. Ate a burger at the restaurant which was really quite good. Too many strollers and wheel chairs.

Oregon Zoo is educational beautiful and animal welfare is on of their main priorities. The Zoo has special events for the holidays even for the animals.

Extremely small, the animals all looked really sad and depressed. Many of the animals had perfectly shaved squares into their fur like they were being operated on and sent back into habitats. 1/3rd of their exhibits were closed for renovation which I appreciate but you cant close that many and make people pay full price and not advise the customers coming. The Giraffes were basically in prison and only a small viewing window to see them. I'm a huge believer in zoo's because they allow people to see animals they would never usually be able to see in the wild but this was ridiculous. I've been to the San Diego Zoo which takes excellent care of their animals and makes sure the enclosures are big enough to keep their animals happy. Zebras are a pack animal and they only had one.

The Max rail blue or red line take you right to the Zoo, Washington Park exit. The zoo will give you $1.50 off of admission for each person who used the Max just show proof when purchasing your Zoo tickets.
