This 9.5 acre park is pretty even when the rhodies are not blooming. Fall can be spectacular with deciduous leaves. Kids will enjoy the geese and ducks. Adult admission is currently free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and evenings after 6 pm, with a fee for other hours.

“A beautiful walk”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

There aren't many areas in the middle of Portland that can offer such amazing views with such a peaceful setting in the middle of a bustling city. If you need a little time away from the hustle and bustle, these gardens are it.

“Very nice but not exceptional.”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

This is a great little garden to go to in the spring, when the rhododendrons and azaleas are blooming. Or go in the fall when some of the trees are changing color and the ducks are flying south. It has large ponds that host numerous different species of waterfowl, many of which are quite beautiful.it's across the street from Reed College, which is worth a stroll, and is near some nice restaurants in the Sellwood neighborhood. Definitely not in the same league as the Japanese and Chinese gardens in nice restaurants and the Sellwood neighborhoodPortland, but it's worth a visit if you're a local or if you're staying on the side of town.

“Beautiful gardens in SE Portland”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

This is a great spot for kids. Used to go there as a teen, when it was free and open very late, but I'm sure they need the entrance fees now. Little stream runs through, ducks swimming around, and pretty good signage on many of the trees and shrubbery, so those of us not too good on plants can know what we're viewing. Borders Eastmoreland Golf Course, so you can watch golfers shanking a few if you need more to entertain you. Good spot for family with young kids, can spend an hour or so, with many benches for little feet to stop and rest.

“my own secret garden!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I happened upon this garden during the most stressful time of my life, in early 2010, and roamed around without being disturbed by loud obnoxious people, and just let the flora and fauna work it's tender magic into my soul, which restored me back to whole after several visits there, and then come to find out come late Spring it bloomed into the most beautiful garden on earth! And alas, it wasn't my own secret garden anymore, but scads of people flocked there and weddings were held and other large groups walked through, so what a surprise for me to realize it was lots of other people's "Secret Garden" too.
