“Hike around a volcano”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Mt Tabor is the only city park in the US which is a volcano cone. Very dormant. It is a interesting place to hike or bike around.

“Portland's own volcano”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Fantastic green spaces, an off-leash dog park and beautiful views from the top.

Closed to cars one day a week makes it even more Portland-ier.

“A good place for a hardy uphill hike”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

We live close to Mt. Tabor and whenever we want to get away from things and back to nature it is an easy trek to get there. Once you arrive you get a good work out making your way to the top of this dormant, yet still active, volcano right in the heart of one of Portland's southeast suburbs.

Lots of hilly paths and stairs to climb, the park is good work out with the reward of fantastic views.

“great place to walk”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

We love the access to parking and ability to walk the dog on the paths and roads of Mt Tabor. Some days the roads are closed to car traffic. Nice for a walker.
