“Pretty fun, but nothing too exceptional”
Reviewed August 9, 2005

Hanging out at the Portland Saturday Market (on Sunday) was fun, but it wasn't overly exceptional. I'm from Seattle, and I think Pike Place is much more impressive. Yet, I had fun: got a henna tattoo, had some fun food, and enjoyed looking at all the artsy stuff. There were a lot of booths with cheapo sunglasses, knock off purses, etc. Some of the more artsty craft booths were fun to look at, if not a little overpriced. If you have some time to waste, go for it. If your time is limited, don't make it a priority.

“Same as any craft market”
Reviewed July 26, 2005

It's the same as any craft market anywhere. Maybe a few more tye-dye shirts, but really the same stuff: candles, jewelry, pottery, etc. It doesn't take long to take a look, so stop by if you're interested. But unless you are a real craft maven it will probably take you less than 30 minutes.

Convenient to the Light rail on the edge of downtown.

“I loved the portland saturday market”
Reviewed April 4, 2004

I visited the Portland Saturday Market this weekend and it was the greatest art market I've been to. The art is varied and unique and the prices are very reasonable. Contrary to their name they are open on Sundays too. The "Saturday Market" is located under the Burnside Bridge, there are actually 2 markets in separated by the Max track, the other one is a flea market, and it's mostly junk. I highly recommend the Portland Saturday Market.
