We live in nearby Washington and we love this garden. We try to visit every season as the place constantly changes. We nearly always take our out of town guests.

The Japanese Garden is beautiful. With every turn in the paths, there is something awesome to look at. It is a very peaceful place to go. While we were there, everything was in full bloom. I especially enjoyed seeing the bonsai trees. This is a great place for all ages. However, if you are in a wheelchair or you have a stroller, you may be limited in some areas.

I’ve been to several Japanese Gardens around the country. This might be my favorite. It beautiful, clean, and quiet. Parking is woefully limited and can be frustrating but worth it once you’re inside the gardens.

We had no idea what to expect, but happened to arrive just as a tour was starting. If we hadn’t joined it, we would have had no idea what we were looking at. Instead, we learned so much that we plan to return in each of the four seasons for comparison. Just be careful in the parking lot to buy a ticket for more time than you might expect to stay: we paid for an hour but were fined for taking an extra 15 minutes. It’s worth while to take the free shuttle bus to and from the ticket office.

A peaceful and idyllic place to meander for an hour. The docents share interesting background information. We have seen some fabulous exhibits there.
