If you are a tourist to Portland, the Portland Japanese Garden's is a must!! It's located close to downtown, you can take a cab or tri-met bus. The gardens are quiet, groomed and just Lovely!! It will take you about an 1 1/2 to walk the gardens if you stroll, otherwise you can do it in 45 minutes! There is a FEE so bring $$. Plenty of parking!

It is just a very nice peaceful place to visit. Relaxing to just stroll along the paths, listen to the waterfalls. Beautiful especially when the trees are in bloom.

Very calm and peaceful, green and lush.

Price was around $8, so it wasn't expensive at all to see. If it was any more I would have probably ventured away and visted some of the other things Portland has to offer (a lot for free). You can tell they use the money and invest in the gardens, everything was super clean.

The pavillion had some amazing art when we went, but would have rather preferred a class of some sort, or something interactive to the Japanese culture.

This place is a hidden gem of Portland, although getting nearby parking can be a little maddening on weekends. There is so much to see and experience, and the tranquility of the gardens make you feel like you aren't even standing in the middle of 1.5+ million area residents. Their photographic restrictions are a little severe, and it would be nice if they loosened them up. The walking paths are well-groomed and maintained, and there is a little gift shop near the entrance. Definitely worth the visit at least once.
