“Amazing and peaceful”

What a spectacular little spot. I immediately felt calmer as soon as I walked in. Give yourself at least an hour to enjoy this gem.

“Beautiful and Authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012

This garden has beautiful Japanese buildings, and is a lovely place to walk--especially in spring.

There is a lot of walking on a hillside, so be prepared for that, but it's a lovely place to visit.

“A delightful piece of Japan transplanted to Portland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

The Japanese Garden was a wonderfully soothing experience; serenity in the heart of the city. While parking is somewhat iffy on weekends, at least, the garden is designed to provide a sense of privacy and intimacy, while accommodating a reasonable number of visitors at the same time. We don't know anything else quite like it in the States.

“nice.. but nothing too special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

It's a neat place.. but not that special.

I like Japanese culture.. but frankly.. it's a somewhat average garden.. with few high points.

“Beautiful garden walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

Very thoughtfully laid out paths give many different garden "rooms" within a small park space. Beautiful view of Mt.Hood from the top!
