Never been to a rose garden and was surprised to find that it was free to visit. So many different types of roses and just a peaceful and beautiful setting in Washington Park. Can see why Portland is called the Rose City.

I visited in the morning before the crowds and loved wandering the garden. I came back later in the heat and the smell was wonderful!

You do not even have to be a fan of roses to enjoy the beautiful variations of roses in the gardens. We very much enjoyed walking around and checking out the many different colors.

What's not to love? Great garden, amazing color. More varieties than you can imagine on the grounds of the City's finest park with a view to Mt. Hood. You simply must go.

Budget enough time to walk through all four areas and enjoy the roses. We also got to hear a local harpist play, and came early enough to have the place mostly to ourselves.
