“Lovely Park to Stop By in Downtown”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

I love the fountain. It's really a masterfully-designed sculpture. The park is decent, taken up mostly by the fountain. Some areas smelled like pee, but it's in the middle of the city so what can you expect? Otherwise very clean. Worth stopping by when you're in the neighborhood.

“A must if you like fountains”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

This is the most stunning of the various fountains in the city, part of the Lawrence Halprin-designed chain of fountains, springs, and pools. It's beautiful in the spring when the rhododendrons are out, and in the summer when the kids are splashing about in the water, and in the fall, when the nearby maples and oaks are red and yellow. Note that the water is drained in the winter months, although the park is still handsome.

“Best fountain ever!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Locals call this "Ira's Fountain". You could drive right by it and not see it, but it is worth seeking out. On a hot day you can swim in it, go behind the waterfall, or climb up the "fish ladder". A nugget of beauty in downtown.

“Beautiful Spot to Eat Lunch -- Fun Wading for Kids”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

I think this place is a well-kept secret. It's across from the Keller Auditorium, off the "main drag" of downtown, and nearly invisible unless you are on 3rd Avenue--it looks like an average flat park from 4th. Salmon Street fountain gets all the press, but this one is even more fun for dipping your feet in and watching the kids play on a hot day. If you are lucky, the Hawaiian food cart will be there too.
