“Good value for money and good location.”

Our family was spending a night in Portland on our way down to California and we needed a family-friendly hotel in a good location with a good price. Bingo. This was it. For $99 with the AAA rate, we got two queen beds and a big, clean room just blocks from many attractions. The people were warm and friendly. The valet even suggested that we park on the street and save the $28 since we were leaving fairly early. Also, the fitness room was surprisingly spacious, with more treadmills and bikes than most four-star hotels. To top it all, the wireless was also included. Definitely a good spot for a family stop in downtown Portland.

Room Tip: Higher rooms will be quieter.

I stayed here in March 2011 for 6 nights and 7 days. I requested a microwave and refrigerator and was given both. The 1st fridge they brought me was terrible, so loud, I called down and withing 10 minutes had a new one. I ate breakfast at the concierge each day and it is THE BEST concierge breakfast I have ever had! Lots of hot and cold options. And in the evenings, the concierge has desserts out that are lovely, cookies, pastry, cheese, and fruit. Really nice concierge and the staff was great too. I'm a VERY light sleeper, and I slept great here, the bed was nice and there was no noise at night. I'll stay there every time I go to Portland. :)

Room Tip: Ask to be on the concierge level and away from the elevator.

The Courtyard Marriott Portland City Center is centrally located in Portland, had a very modern and comfortable feel in my room, as well as in the lobby, and had a fun and effective eco-friendly vibe. Attached restaurant, "The Original," is much nicer (in terms of ambience, food and service quality) than your average hotel restaurant in this category and was enjoyable. In-room wi-fi and wired ethernet internet access worked perfectly and was fast. Staff was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. Gym is very well equipped. Hotel offers coin operated self-service washer and dryer on top of your usual laundry service, which might be helpful for some. In-room accoutrement were acceptable --wonderful iHome stereo for iOS devices. Found the bathroom supplies (soap, shampoo, and such) to be somewhat limited, although the basics were there. Perhaps keeping these limited helps with the eco-friendliness. Room size and closet storage space was limited, but it was still larger and more generous than a small room in Europe and met my needs for a week of business attire. My high-floor room had a nice view of the city. Starbucks across the street. It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to get to and from the hotel and airport by public transportation (MAX streetcar train, $2.50, no change of train necessary). Would absolutely stay here again. Photo of my standard room included.

I am a Platinum with Marriott for business reasons... Trendy is not a word that generally comes to mind with Marriott, especially not Courtyard. Then BAM, a hotel that gets it all right. Great service, big smiles, nice status acknowledgement. The room was comfortable (only complaint that is the thinnest comforter I have ever seen... (Quickly rectified with extras from housekeeping). Internet was fast and free. Parking was pricey, as it is in a city hotel, alas wish I could have free parking be a Platinum arrival gift (Marriott hint hint!).

Will seek this property out again.

I booked this hotel for two reasons: the DowntownPortland.org site was having a Portland Perks special and the property rated in the top ten for the area on TripAdvisor. With the Portland Perks deal, we paid under $130 a night (two queens) with free parking (two nights), free full breakfast for three people for two days, a coupon book AND $50 cash back!

The staff was friendly and attentive. The lobby area was comfortable and inviting and our room was great: very clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the lobby served a great breakfast. The hotel is convenient to the local mass transit and to downtown. I would stay there again happily.

Travel much on business - have been down on Courtyards as of late (too many old courtyards), but found this one in Portland to be a nice modern / newer courtyard- Rooms are modern, hotel is clean, service is good and location very good. Whether you were going to stay for business or for fun, would recommend this hotel

The Courtyard is far nicer than the full service Marriott a few blocks away. It's on a quiet street , across from a Starbucks and the staff are very welcoming and nice.
Located within walking distance from Downtown Portland's highlights it's a great choice. Rooms are clean comfortable and large. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: There's a bar/restaurant on the 30th floor of the bank building across the street called the Por...
