They care open latte and super helpful. This is the largest new and used book store, I have ever seen... So much to see and peruse...

My sister and I spent an evening at this fabulous bookstore. I love books and reading and don't get to visit many really good bookstores since so many have closed or morphed into basically department stores. You can get a bite to eat and a cup of wonderful coffee here. Wished I could have sat in on a reading going on up on the second floor that was announced but couldn't get myself away from looking through the many new and used books sold here. Plan to spend at least a couple hours here. A wonderful asset to Portland.

Being surrounded by so many books and getting lost on the various floors was such a unique experience considering how few bookstores there are these days. It was a little overwhelming because there were so many floors, but we loved our time there. I think there are tours on Sundays- we weren't able to go then, but it seems like it'd be an awesome tour!

Clearly the offerings are incomparable - so many titles in one place. Unfortunately, the computer system is not always accurate, and staff is generally indifferent, but if you have the time and the inclination to "hunt" it is a great store. If you are a "bookie", try to park close and buy the maximum parking time - you will need it, and the short walk back to your car with an armload of books will be less unpleasant than …..

Worth a visit to see what a book store used to look like. Not sure it will be around much longer, so you should go now.

This is one of our go to places. We stop by here before going out for dinner & drinks. He likes to browse through the used book section. I just wander around. They have some cool books and some great gifts for the holidays. People are nice and knowledgeable.

Powell’s is an iconic Portland place- so large you need one of their maps to find your way. New and used books and a coffee shop to rest your feet!

Really great bookshop. Lots of selection - technical books, fiction, non-fiction, reference, everything!

It appears that second hand is mixed in with the new - I like this, as personally I quite like buying used, but if you definitely want brand new, just check the book or speak to staff I suppose.

Also, -very- cheap coffee! The coffee shop is a hidden gem in an area that can be a little bit pricey if you just want a black coffee.
