First off, this place is kind of tricky to get to. It is located by all one way streets so you really have to drive in a circle to get there. Additionally, the address for the hotel is the address posted on the business below it (Suki's Bar and Grill) which made it even more confusing in trying to find it.
This particular Travelodge is WAY overpriced for what you get. We were not really greeted by the man at the front desk and he seemed rather aloof. He was not unfriendly but he certainly did not go out of his way to be friendly either. I would not say that he made us feel particularly welcome.
The room we got was above the bar. It was noticeable but really not as loud as I would have expected with karaoke going on. The air conditioner helped drown out the sounds of the bar and the street below. It did not drown out the herd of elephants that ran through the hotel at around 11:45 on Sunday night.
The furniture was not remarkable but it was at least dusted and seemed clean. However the bathroom counter had smeared toothpaste on it and there were also smears on the mirror. Most disgustingly, when I went to take a shower I discovered that the back side of the towel had makeup and toothpaste on it. EEEEEEEW!!!!!
For around $175 dollars a night, this was not exactly what I would call a DEAL. The location may be convenient to downtown Portland, if that is what you want but in my opinion, this is one place you just might want to skip.
