oh I wish I was able to stay longer, we stayed in room 162, had 2 very comfortable beds, ( wish I would have brought my pillows from home) we had a 8 weeks old puppy with us, and there was a sliding door that lead to a potty area,,,also can go out your sliding door and righ onto the riverwalk,,beautiful,,,,hospital fairly close, the airport was real close, but only heard planes in evening and morning,,,didnt hear anything during the night, no slamming doors, no traffic, oh it was nice,,,great pool area, again didnt get to test it out,,but it sure was inviting.....hopre to come back.......I love the Red Lion!

Room Tip: like i said if you have a pet and want 2 queen beds...ask for room 162!

The room was fabulous. It was clean and comfortable. We had a view of the river and it was truly a non smoking room. The room coffee was good and loved having a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was sooo nice, beautiful and roomy and clean. The bed was so comfy. Bed linins were clean and cozy. I could have spent more time just sitting on the deck enjoying the view. I plan on staying there again and will recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have a view of the river.

We have dogs and we love the red lion! This one was really great! Loved our room our view of the water and the easy access to take our dogs outside! The rooms were nice and comfortable and they let us check out at 1 since we didn't get in until about 1230am. Thank you for a great stay!

This place was a little tricky to get to, the driver of the shuttle was awesome, but they forgot me at the airport for about an hour! I called when I left SEA-TAC (30 min flight) and told them I would be outside in an hour (I do not check luggage) and waited an additional hour...finally called and they forgot me, so they came to pick me up. Then I was checked in to a double room instead of King. No big deal, but not a great first impression. Internet was a little shaky. Meeting space was adequate and hidden from the reception area, so that made it private and worth while.

Room Tip: The hotel has two wings, one overlooks the tennis courts and the other the pool...ask for the right...

This is a really nice property with wonderful views of the Columbia River, Vancouver and the Bridge. The staff are attentive and accomodating, the rooms nicely appointed, and a good value. The club was hopping both Friday and Saturday nights. Banquet, AV and conference staff were superb- things went off without a hitch at a large meeting we put on.Great service.

Room Tip: Corner fireplace suites are wonderful- great picture window view, and lots of room in the bedroom, l...

We stayed at the Red Lion - Jantzen Beach with our two giant dogs in July 2012. We were in a first floor room with a patio and view of tennis courts/shrubs/peek-a-boo Columbia River. We will absolutely stay here again.

A few words on Location: Yes, it has a Portland address. It is important to note the hotel is 15 - 40 minutes from downtown Portland (I-5 traffic can really stink) but only 5 minutes across the bridge to Vancouver, WA. Be Aware the hotel is in the PDX flight path - this didn't bother us, but imagine it could be sleep disruptive for others in the early morning. This hotel is our first choice when we visit Vancouver WA. Many Vancouver hotels have the PDX flight path issue too...

The hotel is large with tennis courts, a pool, and a bunch of parking. The hotel has a large ballroom, so the parking must be necessary if there are events going on.

About the rooms: A wide tile entry into extra large rooms. Entry has closets, an extra sink & mirror. The bathroom was very large and roomy. The average tub had a curved curtain rod (every hotel should do this). There is a small fridge and small microwave. The very large room had plenty of room for our giant dogs. There was a nice flat screen tv. Excellent beds.

**Dog Friendly**
We requested a room on the 1st floor. If you are travelling with your pooch, ask for a 1st floor room with a patio. The patio railing has a gate - easy access to dog bathroom breaks without walking through the hotel.
The hotel has grassy areas near the exits to the parking lots with dog bags and trash cans - please be neat and utilize the bags if you forgot one of your own. We are DISGUSTED when owners of small breed dog owners don't pick up after their dogs (size of poop is relative). Thanks to the hotel for providing the courtesy.
If needed there are several dog parks within a few minutes drive - the closest is at the next exit south on I-5 across from Delta park complex.

Jantzen Beach has plenty of moderate dining options. Although walkable in terms of distance - you will want to take a vehicle due to safety. Bonus - any forgotten dog items can be found (or substituted) at the PetSmart near by.

Food: We did not dine on the property,so we cannot speak to the quality or price. We do love that it is only 15 minutes south to the Mississippi & Skidmore Food Cart enclave (You can't go wrong with the Big Egg - well, unless they're already sold out).

A word on our ratings: Why not excellent - we have stayed in some marvelous accomodations. This Red Lion is very comfortable, and very good for a moderate hotel. We save "excellent" ratings for out of this world experiences.

Room Tip: If you have dogs, ask for a room with a patio for fastest access to outdoors - the patio fence opens...
