we really liked this place, delicious gormet pizzas, and the beer sampler, that allows you to sample all there beers is great value for $7.50. I personally prefer these beers over the previously visited lucky lab and it is comparable on price, two can eat lunch and sample the beer for around $20, the location is also great, close to downtoen right in the pearl district. very chill relaxed atmosphere

My husband and I ate here during a recent visit to Portland, Oregon in October 2009.
This brewpub is easy to get to using the city's streetcar system which runs right past the pub.
When we arrived mid-afternoon, the hostess welcomed us at the door and explained that it was open-seating at the moment - so we went right in and chose a table on the 1st floor. There is also seating on the 2nd level. We thought the tables were kind of close together, but it was an interesting interior design. The restaurant is casual, located in a remodeled historic building. The restaurant plan is open, with lots of exposed brick, metal and wood. There is also a bakery located on the 1st level. We didn't try anything from the bakery, but the offerings looked and smelled great!
Service was a bit slow. We ordered a couple of beers (the Blue Heron Pale Ale for me and the IPA for hubby) and they were fine. I ordered something called a smoked wild salmon melt and it was fantastic! I forget what entree hubby ordered, but he was equally enthusiastic about the food and the beer.
Seemed like lots of locals were there. So it's not just a touristy place. We would definitely return there and we do recommend this restaurant.

I went here with a group of friends in August of 2007. The bartender made some good beer suggestions (I arrived early and had a beer while I waited.) I tried the Blue Heron (their lightest and sweetest house beer), and I was not disappointed. We had reservations, so we were seated promptly once the rest of the group arrived. The building itself has great architecture -- high ceilings, metal catwalks, exposed brick and wood beams, piping and vats used for brewing, etc. Our young server was friendly, but once our order was taken, she didn't return to the table soon or often enough to get refills, add'l drink orders, etc. -- a major pet peeve. I had a personal pizza -- it lacked enough sauce and it had a nondescript spicy flavor -- I'd give it a 5 out of 10. Also, we had walked to Bridgeport from another part of town, but the surrounding area is currently undergoing major construction, with several roads closed -- good luck driving there and parking!

The pizza in the restaraunt was really good-a few years ago before they renovated the restaurant. What used to be a cozy NW brepub is now a trendy, modern thing. The food is not so good, especially the pizza. The beer, however, is still amazing. I recommend going for beers but go somewhere else for eats.
