Dusty and Steve have a beautiful B&B. We were so comfortable and felt so at home. It was in an excellent neighborhood and Dusty and Steve had great maps of the area. Breakfast was top quality and served in the beautiful dining room. The outside patio was a great place to relax after a busy day and the front swing a nice spot to enjoy a cup of coffee!

Room Tip: We stayed in the basement apartment.

For our first night in Portland, we stayed at the Lion and Rose. We couldn't have made a better choice. It was amazing...so beautiful, comfortable, and unpretentitious. The bed, as other guests have said, was just so luxurious! The price was very reasonable and the location very convenient. It is located in a quiet neighborhood close to many interesting eateries and shops. Steve, one of the innkeepers, served a delicious breakfast and then joined us at the table. One of the perks of a B&B experience is the interaction with the guests. This morning was no exception. After an hour or so, we were one big happy family! Steve was happy to give us all kinds of helpful information for the rest of our trip. The only downside was that we only stayed for one night. Some day, hopefully, we will return.

Loved it! One of the most beautiful B&Bs we've every stayed in. Unfortunately, we were not able to join the breakfasts, but looked wonderful. Certainly would stay again - very gracious hosts. And lovely neighborhood, with all the restored Victorian homes, BB's, etc. -- the hosts had a nice walking map for exploring the nearby area. Note - if room is on the street, gets a bit noisy, especially at bar closing time down the street.

I recently had to go to Portland unexpectedly and had a hard time finding hotel rooms. I had already stayed in 2 different places when I moved to Lion and the Rose. I was so sorry I hadn't thought of a B&B first. Clean, comfortable and a wonderful value. I couldn't have felt more welcome. For a much better price than a downtown hotel, I was much more comfortable.

We were two sisters traveling to Portland for a relaxing summer getaway in the beautiful Northwest. We looked into a variety of accommodations, but after speaking on multiple occasions to the innkeepers at The Lion and the Rose, it was an easy decision to pick this beautiful Portland gem, which is nestled in a lovely historic neighborhood, just a stone's throw from Downtown. Traveling from the Inn to wherever we needed to go was a breeze with the easily accessible public transportation. Even before we made our decision to stay, the innkeepers were generous and helpful in providing guidance and information. This was just the beginning. Once we arrived, Dusty and Steve were there to greet us warmly, making us instantly feel like we had reached our home away from home. The inn was elegant yet cozy, with every amenity one would need. once you've experienced the impossibly soft sheets, the elaborate breakfasts, the fresh-baked cookies, and the surrounding beauty viewed from the comfort of their porch swing, you may never want to leave. We've stayed in numerous B&B's, but what truly distinguished The Lion and the Rose was its owners. Their thoughtful, kind, and generous spirits remains our fondest memory of a wonderful vacation.
