The place is next to an Indian Restaurant which provides cheap and tasty buffet lunch and dinner. Located in bus line which takes to downtown. They provide good free breakfast. quiet neighbourhood.

Good place for the price.

This hotel has shuttle service from the Portland Airport with a courteous driver and quick pick-up. The room rate was very reasonable, the room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. I got my money's worth and would recommend it for that reason.

NEVER again! Smelly halls and rooms with 'soft, spongy' floors, missing bathroom tiles, and of course, blood stained sheets! Desk guy brought up 1 sheet for ME to replace! I had to tell him I wanted 2 sheets, and still had to remake the bed myself while my children watched. We got a 'so called deal' over Hotwire.com and I would not do that again - know your properties folks and don't take potluck! I do not know what Howard Johnson is doing having such crappy trash in their ranks. This was the second time we have been burned by them! Not again though!

We had a early flight so we booked with hotel using there Stay, park and Fly Package instead of waking up at 3 am and driving 2 and a half hours. It was a good rate, but NOT worth it! The hotel pictures have to be 20 years old. Our room was dirty and the smell was unbearable. The bed was worn out and we rolled to the middle. It was the worst nights sleep I have ever had. If the floor would have been cleaner I would have slept there! The bathroom walls had a brown substance on them, and were in desperate need of being washed. The sink had mold/mildrew around the faucet. Do your self a favor and look else where.

Lots of hotels have airport shuttles, but they're normally in the $100+ price range. Frugal hubby and I do not believe in paying that much for a one-night stay that's basically to rest up for our flight home. Luckily, this Howard Johnson DOES have an airport shuttle with friendly drivers. They also have amenities we did not expect: a business center in the lobby with an internet computer and printer, and a complimentary breakfast. Since our flight was very early (we had to leave before the 6 am breakfast), they gave us to-go bags with some snacks, even though we had declined them earlier, which was very thoughtful of them. The room was satisfactory: it had a little fridge and microwave. The bed was fine, and we got the extra pillows we requested. The only caveat is that there is no elevator in this walk-up hotel, so if you have trouble walking up stairs and you did not book a ground floor room ahead of time, you may be out of luck. The next time we fly out of Portland, we will definitely book at this HoJo.

We arrived 11 pm (2 am our time) for a relaxing sleep. There were NO ELEVATORS. The stairs were difficult to climb as they were outdoors, old and it was easy to fall. There was no help to get our luggage upstairs, and we were told there were no first floor rooms.
The layout was a maze. We were told our room was in one building, and when we got to it, the room was not there. We asked the desk three times where the room was, and was told it was in a different place each time. When we finally lugged our luggage up the stairs to OUR room, the keys did not work. It took nearly an hour from check in to get to the room.
