A very good hotel, and an outstanding restaurant. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are thoroughly clean and nicely appointed. The only maintenance problem is that the plastic keys work a bit erratically.
There are two caveats, however. 1/ The rooms and suites vary widely in size, and it pays to look closely at the website (and perhaps to call the hotel with other questions) when making a choice. 2/ This isn't the hotel's fault, but the city of Portland seems clueless about how to make its downtown area feel safe at night. If you remain in the five square block town center, its okay, but venture a bit further (for example, toward "old town") and Portland is no longer the friendly place that its promotional literature describes.More
