I booked this hotel based on its historical value. The lobby is spectacular and worth visiting.
Our beginning at the hotel was the old room switch due to malfunctions. The first glitch was an unworkable toilet. The second room turned out to be a smoking room with the smoke eater still hooked up, REEKING. Apologies were made and we were moved to a third room which was fine. The layout was nice, the view was nice and the beds were quite comfortable. My one disappointment was the furniture and decor did not befit the expensive price tag. I would expect a higher quality and more up to date furniture for their rates.
The other disappointment was their manager's reception that consisted of pretzels and soda. All the vegetables were gone within the first ten minutes without being replaced as were any other snacks. Not a big deal but not up to other Embassy Suite standards.
Overall this is a unique building but not worth the price to stay.
