I stayed at Fairfield inn - Portland airport for 2 nights during July 4th , 2014 long weekend.
Rooms were OK and the staff was friendly.
Breakfast was a big disappointment. Fruits that were served were CANNED - dipped in syrup. Terrible!
Other stuff was not great either.
I have stayed at Marriott hotels, so far the worst breakfast served.

Thank you for staying with us on your July 8th trip! I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy our complimentary Breakfast Buffet. In our efforts to appeal to a wide variety of diets and taste, we do take your comments seriously when gearing up to change menu items. I have investigated the prepared fruit mix that we currently carry. What I have discovered is that the fruit is contained in plastic and not metal. This is a good thing, metal cans although good for recycling, tend to leave a displeasing metallic aftertaste. The other discovery I made was that the fruit is actually in natural syrup, and although it might be too sweet for some taste, it does fall in guidelines for a healthy fruit supplement. It is always better to have fresh fruit available and we proudly keep apples, oranges and bandannas for those who want a quick healthy snack on the road. When the weather starts getting chilly again, we will be bringing back Sausage with gravy and Biscuits. Hope to see you then! Thank you again for your kind words about my staff's friendliness, we strive hard to treat you like family!

Get a room on the parking lot side. That's all you need to know. The other side of the hotel is right next to the highway on ramp and you will listen to trucks accelerating to get on the highway all night long. Otherwise, if you've stayed at a Fairfield Inn before there's nothing else I can tell you that you shouldn't already know.

Thank you so much for staying with us during your trip to Portland! Your tip for which rooms to stay in is a very popular request for us at the Front Desk, and as we love all of our rooms, it is always a welcome pleasure to have a guest give us the answer to the #1 question asked. If there are any suggestions you might have to make us "WOW" and not just a hotel where there is no "Flair" or excitement, feel free to let us know! I am new to this property, having arrived May 1st, and want to make our Fairfield Inn & Suites the place you will want to come back to time and time again!
Thank you again for all that you do for us, see you on your next trip!

We had to get a room on short notice, and this hotel had one of the few available on a Friday night. Since we got it at the last minute, we did not get a good rate. I have stayed in nicer rooms than this for much less than $150 per night. That being said, it was a short ride from the airport in their nice van, with a pleasant and professional driver. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our room was spacious and well laid out. The bed was amazing comfortable, with lots of fluffy pillows. The only negative is the vanity area is pretty small. A plus was there were plenty of towels, although they were a bit scratchy. We had a comfortable chair, nice desk, microwave, and mini-refrigerator. The exercise room had two treadmills, an elliptical, and weigh machine. Exercise machines had TVs on each, which was nice. The laundry room was very clean. I would stay here again, but try to get a better price.

We stayed 2 days here as we planned to have a Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway drive and a shopping at Woodburn Premium Outlet.

What we like are the cosy and clean room we stayed (3rd floor far from the elevator and closed to the NE Airport Way road). We also used a laundry room, which was very clean. The location of the hotel is great. It was easy for us to set off for the Columbia River Scenic drive. Breakfast in the morning was also tasty and neat. WiFi was reliable and fast.

What we slightly don't like and wonder is that the staff at the front desk gave us a sour look when we asked for information. Also, the elevator made screeching noises.

We stayed here while attending a softball tournament in Vancouver. This hotel was located in a good area with lots of shopping and restaurant choices--right near Cascade Station and Ikea. The room exceeded my standard for cleanliness and quiet. We stayed on the 3rd floor as usual and didn't see another person. It was very quiet. The room was clean and pretty much an average hotel room. The bathroom vanity area was very small. Microwave and fridge. The bed was average very firm. We didn't stay long enough to use the pool or restaurant. The breakfast was a typical hotel continental breakfast. The food was good. Real eggs a plus! Waffles, sausage, cereal, bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, etc. Clean and well stocked. I would stay here again. We got a great deal on Expedia. Best value we could find in the area.

Room Tip: 3rd floor facing the parking lot very quiet.

Not sure why this hotel is rated so high. I stay at enough Fairfield Inns and this one is just average - it is not bad but nothing to write home about either.

The only thing I really did not like was the very soft foamy and sagging bed. I woke up with a backache. The rest is just normal Fairfield Inn. There was a microwave and refrigerator in my room so that is good.

I am a Marriott Platinum member staying on points on a very slow weekend night - at most properties, I get upgrades without asking. I was not upgraded for some reason. It is unusual as this is a suite Fairfield Inn. Since it was just a night, it was no big deal and I did not ask.

The location is not as great as the Cascade Station hotels that have MAX access. Still, it is close enough to the airport. Airport Shuttle runs every hour and 30 after 24 hours a day. THere is a McDonalds and Burger King within walking distance.

Thank you for staying with us! I am pleased to advise you that we are currently looking into the condition of our beds and conferring with our corporate office before our next round of room renovations. Sadly, our property has a very small number of suites and all the upgrades had likely been claimed before your arrival. We appreciate your loyalty to Marriott, and look forward to serving you again in the future.

I use this a lot when flying out of Portland, OR. It's easy to get to, very clean (recently refurbished), excellent breakfast, and shuttle to the airport. They also have a package to leave your car there while you are gone.

Room Tip: has an elevator, but first floor is always nice when you have luggage
