Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Airport
Ranked #51 of 144 Hotels in Portland

Spent points for a free night after returning to Portland. Rooms are typical Embassy Suites with two rooms and mini-fridge/microwave. Can be noisy from aircraft taking off to the east, as others have commented. Keycard doors confuse many travelers, according to the front desk, as when you insert the card, both green & red lights come on. (I travel alot and usually its just green lights for opening the door). Large LCD TVs in room but no channel guide inside info guide. Several channels were very grainy and all were analog (which is low tech for these LG TVs). The breakfast was good, again typical Embassy Suite fare, with cook-to-order omelets and buffet style for all other items. The omelet maker was very personable. The night of our stay the hotel had a large party (Willamette Dental Group) at the hotel, so the kitchen was closed for dinner service. Parking was also non-existent during this party. We got there too late for the manager's reception and did not use the internet (and pay the fee!).

When we stay by the Portland airport its either this hotel (for the breakfast) or the nearby Residence Inn (for the full kitchen/fireplace). Both have airplane noise issues though.

My husband and I stayed one night before catching our flight home the next day. The hotel is nice, but lots of noise from the rails and airplanes. But, my biggest complaint is the charge to use their wireless internet. Most hotels/motels offer FREE wireless in this day and age. We decided to "bite the bullet" and pay the fee. We both have laptops, but later found out that each of us would have to pay to use our laptops. The price we paid was not per room, but per computer. You have got to be kidding me!!!!!

We were amazed at the room, the bountiful breakfast,
the superb service and the REASONABLE price. Yes, it is near the airport but by far the best place we've ever found to stay in Portland unless you want to spend over $300 a night.

We were in Portland for less than 24 hours awaiting an early morning flight, but had a very pleasant experience at Embassy Suites. The suite was roomy and clean. The staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful. Hotel shuttle service was readily available and reliable. We needed to return a rental car to the airport and were promptly picked up and returned to the hotel by the Embassy shuttle. We were returned to the airport at 4:30 AM the next morning for a very early flight (unfortunately our airline was not nearly as reliable and we in the airport for hours due to a delay :>). There was a complimentary happy hour from 5:30 - 7:30 PM with snacks, wine and beer as well as complimentary breakfast available beginning at 4:30 AM. Dinner in the restaurant was quite good as well. We would definitely stay here again while visiting the Portland area.

We stayed here with a family group, we had 3 rooms. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty, even checkikng us in on our Southwest Flight while we were gone on an outing. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom lacked nothing (other than a quality hairdryer not attached to the wall, but that's just me) and the manager's reception was comfortable and they even provided games which we made use of. The singular problem with the place is the location and possibly the lack of insulation from sound and vibration when the planes were flying overhead. Even in the lobby, where there is a very loud waterfall, one can still hear the planes flying at all hours of the day until late at night, and starting up again about 6:00 in the morning. We bought earplugs at a nearby store for the second night, which worked great, however we could still feel the vibration of the planes.
