Our family enjoyed this hotel. From the front desk to the room attendants to the managers reception & breakfast the staff was kind and gracious. The room smelled a little damp but it was still good and roomy. The next door guests were quite loud (teenagers). The breakfast was excellent!! The managers reception, even on the weekend, and games for the kids... We will definitely do another embassy suites when we need a room again...

This Embassy Suites is closest to the PDX Terminal and offer convenient shuttle service and access to the MAX Light Rail System. The hotel is a typical atrium/waterfalls type property offering clean and well appointed rooms, and very professional and personable staff. A special Thanks to Chris for assigning a great room for airplane and runway watching. Parking is free, and you can drive or walk to the nearby Cascades Station shopping complex for dining, shopping or access to the light rail system into Portland. A very convenient airport location.
Only one negative. The Evening Manager's Reception. A wide-choice of made-to-order cocktails, wine, Rainier Beer or Rum Punch, but accompanied by a selection of finger food that consisted of a popcorn machine (typical in most Embassy Suites), Potato Chips w/ Ranch Dressing and 2 bowls of Gummy Bear and Sour Patch Kids candy! Who eats potato chips with ranch dressing drizzled on them with their wine, beer or cocktail? Not a carrot or celery stick to be seen. Let's not forget to mention the obnoxious children who escaped their alcohol-fueled parents to scoop out grubby hands full of candy? Not up to Embassy and its "Business Class" clientele standards for a week night reception. It turned off many guests who left the hotel to dine in other locales and miss the very nice restaurant, food and service on property. Come on Embassy Suites Portland Airport....present a better reception to encourage your guests, who are paying $150+ a night rates to stay on your property. While we can respect and understand the need to cut costs, your reception should showcase your on-site dining option to keep business....and revenue flowing in-house.

Room Tip: High Floor. Either side of hotel offers view of the runways and airplanes but disturbing noise was...

We arrived in Portland after midnight so we stayed one night at this great hotel. We had a prompt pickup from the airport and were quickly checked into our suite. As a Hilton diamond we were on the "Hilton Honors" floor but some upgraded room amenities (everyone has a suite of course) and a table on the floor with minted water and fruit. The room was quiet, well appointed and fresh and clean.
My husband had a great lunch in the hotel restaurant--halibut and chips, while I used the free internet to work in the room. The "made to order" breakfast was great; we asked for a late checkout and were given 1:30pm. On checkout we asked to have the shuttle take us to the "Max" station as we were going next to the Hilton Portand Hotel and Executive Tower downtown and this was no problem. The fare on the Max was $2.40 to go downtown--Portland has a great public transportation system.

We will definitely stay at the Embassy Suites Portland Oregon airport when we return to the area.

Right by the airport, and few minutes from downtown, this hotel provides good value for business meetings. I was there for two days, and had to work inside the hotel, everything was easy. Getting in and out is a breeze, the service is solid and the value is great.

I knew something was up the moment that I stepped into the elevator....the 8th floor button was covered with a HiltonHonors Floor sticker. Hmmm. Stepping out on the 8th floor I was greeted by a table with ice water and a bowl of fresh fruit. A sign on the wall said "Suites Sweetened - A warm Embassy welcome for our Diamond and Gold members". That's different I thought.

Once in my suite I found a box of chocolate covered raisons and salted pretzels and two bottles of water. A small card read "We want our best guests to feel like you've gotten extra-Suite treatment"

I talked with the hotel manager and she told me that this property is one of 10 Beta test Hilton properties in the US. I told her how much the recognition meant to a 100 night a year traveler.

Not sure why it has taken Hilton so long to figure this out, but loyal guests know what we bring to the table and its the little things that make our grueling travel schedules bearable.

Thank you Embassy Suites PDX - I will be back!

Room Tip: HH Diamonds and Gold members will love the treatment.

I got this hotel for about 79 bucks a night and so it was a great deal. The rooms were huge and of good quality. However there are many downs to this hotel: First - it is about a 20 minute drive to Downtown Portland and so not the best location. Second - there is a very large water fountain downstairs and even though I was staying on the highest level, I could hear the noise in my room. In addition, you can hear the planes taking off and landing. These two things made sleeping very hard. Third - the breakfast and happy hour suck!!! Froozen foods that are full of artificial ingridents and warmed up prior to serving. By the second day, I opted to spend money and eat elsewhere.

I will say the people are very friendly.

My family and I stayed here the night before a 6:15 AM flight from PDX. The hotel is very convenient to the expressways and PDX. Our suite was spacious with 2 double beds. The entire hotel was very clean. We dined on room service - pricey but tasty. Our 7 year old son like the pool but I thought it was too small for swimming laps. The staff was very friendly. Because we left so early, we did not get to try the hotel's breakfast. This is a great hotel for people with early morning flights.
