“Accommodating and Quiet”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

I stay at The Oxford Suites in Jantzen Beach when in Portland for business. Of all the hotels in the price range, they offer the most extras - breakfast and happy hour, hot tub, workout room, dvd player, etc. I work odd hours, and the quiet staff and rooms were noticeably more quiet than other places I've stayed. Room was clean and bed was deliciously comfortable. As close to home as you can get in a hotel!

This is my first trip to Portland and it has been great from the start. Hillary was at the front desk and she found me a room for a second night and then worked wonders. She found out that I enjoy food, asked about favorites and recommended a Lebanese restaurant. Next she used two maps and a highlighter to show me how to get there. When I was ready to go to dinner David took me in the shuttle and explained how I could call to be picked up. The food was amazing and I felt very comfortable using the MAX (public transportation). Nice room and facility but I will come back for the great people.

The Oxford Suites was a wonderful place to stay. I was able to book on line and received a 15% discount. We paid $75.00 for one night. The people at the front desk were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very nice. We had a sitting area and a king sized bed. The hotel offers an evening soup and salad bar and two drinks...all complementary. The hotel also has a pool, hot tub, two saunas and an exercise room. There is also a complementary buffet breakfast in the morning. We will definitely stay again.

I've stayed at Oxford Suites in Pismo Beach, CA several times, and the Jantzen Beach Oxford really met my expectations. I arrived on a snow-storm weekend, but was promptly picked up by the hotel shuttle driver who found a back road to the airport so that he could pick me up.

It was late, and most places were closed due to the weather, however Safeway across the street stayed open. It was great that even at 10pm I could go get something to eat (Safeway has good Deli food, available "to go" after hours). I picked up some food to heat up in the room microwave, and put the leftovers in the fridge!

The service was great. The receptionists were staying through the weekend and working long hours because it was difficult/impossible to travel during the storm. They helped accommodate everyone. A breakfast of hot, real food, is available daily, and you can have free soup (of the canned type), salad, crackers, chips, and dip at the reception. They also give you two drink tickets nightly for use on wine, beer (they have a decent draft selection), or soda. The wifi is free, coffee service is plentiful, and there is always a snack at the front desk (fruit and cookies usually). If you have never stayed at an Oxford Suites hotel, I highly recommend it. All of the offered amenities are great, and the value is exceptional. It is always worth the price.

Spent nearly a week while working the NW Sportsmen's Show as an exhibitor. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel provides an excellent hot breakfast, 2 complimentary drinks in the evening, and shuttle service to and from the Expo Center. The bed is very comfortable and the room is quiet despite being very close to the approach and departure lines for the airport. I might add that my stay was during a very trying time for the city as it was nearly paralyzed by a series of 3 ice and snowstorms. This didn't seem to affect the ongoing operations at the hotel and the staff continued to function as if everything were normal. Kudos to them! My only complaint was being charged more than the AARP rate that I had booked for the entire stay. Never-the-less the room with all the amenities provided was worth the cost. I'll probably be there for next year's show.
I would recommend that they keep the lounge open beyond 9:30 however. 11 PM would be much more reasonable.

I recently spent one week in Portland,It just happened to be during the snowstorm of the decade, The hotel was as busy as it could be people coming and going, the city was paralyzed but not the hotel, even though some employees could not get home for two day's the hotel brought the "A" game out. It is too hard to remember everyone's name and I don't want leave anyone out but everyone in every department was courteous, professional and worked tirelessly to weather the storm. And a shout out to Oxford suites for finding rooms for those employees and family members that could not get back and forth from work safely. Now on to the hotel, this is my third visit to this property and I really should not have been surprised by anything, the rooms are great the bar and dining area were always staffed by courteous, capable ladies and gentleman. I don't want carry on forever but I recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone planning a stay or just passing through Portland It's just off of I 5 NB. You will leave refreshed and ready for the trials and tribulations of the world outside.
