“VERY good!”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

It's eclectic but the food and wine were great! The server, I believe the owner (a man perhaps in his late 50's from what I remember), was French, from Paris. It was an interesting experience. I can't remember what we had as it was 2 months ago but I remember we left thinking that it was an awesome meal and at a very good price. I think the walls were finished with aspenite and varnished, like people do in a camp but hey, it's all about the food and wine and service and price and this place clicked all of those boxes. When in Rome.

“An Amazing Meal is Guaranteed for All!”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

We were staying at Wildspring Cabins just up the road in Port Orford and chose to go to Paula's Bistro. This is a charming restaurant with EXCEPTIONAL food! The Rack of Lamb was exquisite and the mussels and clams to start were amazing. This place is highly recommended - trust me... eat here... you won't be disappointed! From the friendly French waiter to the comfortable decor, you can't go wrong here!

“A great dining experience”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

This little place was probably the best meal I've had on the Oregon Coast ever. The waiter, from France, was funny, interesting and knowledgable. The food and drink was exquisite - I had lamb chops, and I think my wife had some kind of pasta dish, and all of the food, from the apps to the salads to the dessert were amazing. There was some blackberry thing for dessert that almost had me licking the plate.

And check out the art work on the walls - almost all of it is done by the chef - what a talent. Will definitely eat here next time we're in town.

“Perfect birthday dinners!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We took a friend's advice and dined at Paula's some time ago. It is now our go-to place for special occasions, birthdays, and coastal getaways. We always enjoy the art-filled decor, the intimate bohemian ambience, and chatting with Paula and her husband. Both of them are extremely talented in the kitchen and produce a wide range of French and French-inspired dishes to tempt your palette. They are quite charming and accommodating to guests. It doesn't matter if you are a regular or someone passing through for the first time; you get first-rate treatment. The breads, salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts do not disappoint, and if you want a cocktail, you can have it just the way you like it. I must recommend their Pink Martini (flavored with cherise liquor) -- yum!

“A Favorite Just Gets Better”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Port Orford has got to be one of the least likely places in the universe to find really fine food. That said, Paula's Bistro is totally worth the 60 mile drive, there and back, from our home to enjoy a delightful meal. The menu changes regularly so every visit has a surprise. Last night there were six of us. We all started with one Christoff's signature soups. This one was a pumpkin/lentil with fragrant spices and thick, creamy texture. A lovely mixed green salad with a superb vinaigrette, good bread and herb butter came next. Entrees for our group included a herb-crusted rack of lamb perfectly cooked, a rib-eye steak with an exquisite demi-glace and the piece de resistance, the cassoulet done in the classic French style with white beans, sausage, chicken and spare ribs, Complement the meal with a good bottle of Oregon pinot noir and this is as close to heaven as you'll get on earth. Christoff's training at Maxims in Paris and Paula's skill in the kiitchen shows in every dining experience at Paula's Bistro. Paula's is an unassuming place with a fabulous gastronomic experience.
