This hike was a kedge for us, to motivate us to get into shape. The ascent was 1741 feet, which we managed pretty easily after all that. Since the view at the top is partially obscured by trees, make sure you take the steeper, shorter west trail when you go up, as there are some spectacular ocean views to the north.

Hop, skip to the ocean; some sites for big rigs and some sunny sites. Restroom/showers are clean and this park has the 'bestest' rangers and volunteer staff; they genuinely enjoy their jobs and their RV'rs. Some sites have W/E (no sewer), but there is a dump station.

If you are looking for a real get away with all the amenities, this is the place. They have sites that have all hookups, some electric and water only and tent sites. Also a hiker/biker park. They have trails that go into the mountains as well as the beach. It is extremely clean and well taken care of. Staff is wonderful. Highly recommend it.

Just back from a trip down the O Coast. We stayed at Humbug Mnt State Park. Very nice campground, very clean, quiet, and free showers. Sites were nice, some with hedges and privacy. Met alot of very nice people. Very friendly and helpful rangers and camp hosts. Access to beach was easy and only a 5 min walk down a sandy path under the bridge. It is campground accessible only so very private. The beach itself was simply beautiful, waves crashing, the stream entered here also making it very picturesque. Beautiful sand, views of the rock islands in the distance, we even spotted whale spouts near the rock islands. Also there are large rocks on the beach which make a great spot to set up towels to lean on. No chairs needed! Would definately go back! Oh yeah and the hike was nice...but true not many viewpoints. But about 2.5 miles up at the bench area there is a nice window view of the beach down below where we caught the sunset.

When my Brother-in-law visited us in Oregon last summer we decided to go camping and hiking at Humbug Mountain State Park. The campground was very nice, clean and popular, however the Humbug Mountain Trail had very few views of anything. Any view that used to be there was covered by in grown trees. If I were to go back, I would hike at some of the other trails that the Southern part of the Oregon Coast has to offer.
