With stunning views, both inside the restaurant (great artwork on display) and outside, you can't beat the atmosphere. I had the salmon sandwich, and it was the best I've ever had. Large portion of fish with a delicious, light sauce. Price was very reasonable. Service was a little slow, but not to the point of being annoying. Nice wine list as well. I was here for lunch and was not disappointed, I'm confident that dinner would be just as good.

We reached Port Orford after a long day of driving. We checked into a motel and although we were not hungry since we had been snaking on the road, we decided to go to a restaurant. Our motel room was small, and we just felt like getting out. The closest restaurant to our motel was Redfish.

Redfish was a gem of a place. When we arrived after 8pm, we were not sure if they were open as there were no customers. But the staff welcomed us in. The waitress, whom we later discovered was co-owner, was delightful. At first we only ordered drinks, and that did not bother her. She chatted with us and brought us free olives. It was all delightful.

We were having such a nice time we decided to get the house ceviche and banana chips. It was delicious. And I am a picky ceviche critic.

We were also pleasantly surprised that the restaurant got busy. Lots of people whom the waitress knew by name. Good to see a place with a following.

Other nice things about Redfish was their ocean view (they had a large dinning patio for sunny days) and their décor. The place had a great vibe with interesting art.

Turns out that next door is an art gallery owned by the same couple running Redfish. It is called Hawthorne Gallery. Unfortunately it was closed for the night and we left before opening in the morning.

If we are ever in Port Orford again we will visit the gallery, and have a full meal at Redfish. Finding it was a highlight of our drive up the coast.

Brought friends who are new to Port Orford in for lunch and was not disappointed! The views remain as stunning as ever, but all three of our entrees were very good as well. She thoroughly enjoyed her fish tacos and declared them well seasoned, but not overly spiced. He declared his pulled pork sandwich very tasty, with the duck fat fried potatoes an especially tasty treat. I enjoyed my lamb burger as much as I always have. Now if the new chef just brings back those seared scallops I will be very happy!

Food fine but kitchen management that evening was disappointing, resulting in slow service. Great views

The views in this place are great, if it's warm enough to sit outside. The food had a few no-go's (e.g. using the same sauce for starters and mains), but was altogether still quite ok. The next day we heard that they are currently looking for a new chef - so maybe food quality will improve in the near future. The main problem was the timing of the courses. First they almost forgot one starter and then served the main far too early (while some of us were still working on the first course). Maybe this was poorly planned or they wanted to get us out of the restaurant because it was about 9 pm already -- either way, it was unpleasant. You want to relax at your dinner and not feel stressed. Staff is otherwise friendly and helpful. From our experience, there are not many alternatives in Port Orford for dinner - maybe better try Bandon (half an hour north).
