Great Pacific (known to the locals as "GP") has great pizzas. We had their Pizza Marguerite (white style-no sauce). Lots of mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, olive oil, garlic and tomatoes, both large sliced tomatoes and cherry ones. Really good! Rounded out our meal with a shared Greek Salad and some nice dark beer.

We had eaten lunch here before. This time we tried the Pizza! OMG, what were we thinking not to try the pizza before? Crisp crust, fresh vegies, and lots of choices for sauce's. We tried "One night in Bangkok" Thai peanut sauce, shrimp, peanuts, bean sprouts, green onion, and cliantro. It was fantastic! Yes, who would have thought of fresh bean sprouts to top a pizza? Delish, can't wait to go back and try another!

Pendleton was a quick stopover for us, and in many respects disappointing. Among other things, we were hard-pressed to find anywhere to eat that looked remotely inviting. Fortunately we stumbled upon the unique Great Pacific. More than a restaurant, the GP ~ situated in a classic space on Main Street ~ serves as a music venue, wine bar, coffee house, deli, and organic foods purveyor. It's very much an established spot, clearly appreciated by locals.

My five boys all shared a pizza ~ decent quality and great value ~ while my husband and I enjoyed hot sandwiches and great beer & wine selections. The prices were reasonable and atmosphere inviting. It doesn't stay open very late, nor does it open particularly early. I would've loved to come back the next morning for coffee & and a pastry, but they weren't open until 10 or so and we needed to hit the road. Can't say I'll be back to Pendleton any time soon, but I do wish I could GP back home!

This place is a classic. Been around since the 80s. It's a coffee shop but so much more. You can have a sandwich or pizza. You can have a beer. You can buy loose leaf tea, beer, wine etc. Plus, it's a place to see and be seen in this small Eastern Oregon town.

My favorite is the ham and cheese croissant with yummy mustard, fruit and a dill pickle spear on the side. Oh, and don't forget a pint from their great beer selection.

They also often have live music and some outside seating.
