We totally loved this place – ideal location, fantastic accommodation, friendly staff – almost perfect in every respect. The staff are excellent - efficient, helpful and friendly.

We stayed in the Haystack Suite. There is a huge bedroom with a large, very comfortable bed, armchairs, fireplace, TV/DVD and balcony. There is also a big living room with a comfortable queen sofa bed, armchair, table & chairs, fireplace, TV/DVD, kitchen area with fridge & dishwasher and balcony. There is one large bathroom off the main bedroom, with two sink areas, two-person Jacuzzi tub, shower and toilet. Another toilet & sink are off the hall. Both are well-stocked with excellent toiletries. In an alcove in the hall is a sink area with a coffee maker (filtered and espresso), wine fridge, glasses and mugs. The kitchen area has plenty of crockery and cutlery – everything you could need.

There is in-room wi-fi access, plus a PC with printer for guests to use on the landing.

The view from the suite was of the beach and Haystack Rock. Yes, you can also see/hear the road and see the Pelican Brewery & Pub across the road, but we didn’t mind this at all and didn’t find it intrusive.
As we arrived on a Friday night, there was a wine/beer and cheese reception in the lobby area. Although it was nice to taste some local wines and beers, it would have been better if a member of the Inn staff had been present to chat to guests.

We had booked the extremely good value Bed, Breakfast & Brew package which gave us (each night) either the beer taster tray or two 12oz beers + $25 credit towards food in the Pelican Pub. The first night we ate in the Pub and had the misfortune to be seated in the Haystack Room at the back, which is a big barn of a space with plastic tables and chairs and incredibly noisy. The noise level was partly down to the fact that there were mostly family parties with lots of children, but also I think the acoustics left a lot to be desired. Having said that, the food and beer were good (although the margaritas weren’t up to much), which made it even more of a shame that it was like eating in a fast-food cafeteria. The next night we ate at the bar in the main room, which was altogether different and we enjoyed our meal so much more.

The Inn at Cape Kiwanda is the perfect place to stay. The view is amazing even though the hotel is across the street from the beach. The hotel staff is kind and welcoming and the rooms are among the nicest we've experienced on the Oregon coast. I think what I love most is the fact that the Pelican Brewery is right across the street; I am already making plans to go back!

This was such a great find! Pacific City is a quiet little beach town with just enough to keep you busy. The Inn at Cape Kiwanda was the perfect location for a couple and their dog to stay. All of the rooms have a view of the ocean and the cape. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and our dog was even given a goodie bag with her own towel and blanket for the bed. The Coffee shop on site was convenient and you absolutely MUST eat at the Pelican Pub across the street! We will definitely be back!

We had a very pleasant two room suite with fireplace, kitchen area, and terrace with a stunning view of Haystack Rock and the Pacific ocean. The consternation is the main coastal road running right in front of the hotel and that nothing in the advertisements, or web site mentions or shows. What a disappointment! Ocean surf yes,but if no vehicles are driving by! The other setback is the lack of room service.

I just came back from a one night stay at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda and the hotel itself was marvelous. It's right across the street from the Dory Boat put-in and has great beach access and of course, the Pelican Brewpub is also just across the street with award winning beer!
The room was on the second floor and had a microwave, fridge, gas fireplace and a balcony with a view of the parking lot and the ocean. It was a good size and had a sound machine in it playing ocean sounds. (rather apporpriate)
DVD's were available to rent for free, games were easily found and free internet access was also a feature.
The one problem we did have at the hotel was our screen door not opening. A call to the front desk produced a maintenance man in less than 5 minutes and he did a quick fix so we could open and close it; after all, getting on to the balcony was a major reason we were there.
The drawbacks were not the hotels fault. Because it was the first nice weekend of the year, it was jam packed and motorcycles, pickups, loud cars and RV's were coming and going noisily all afternoon and evening. On top of that, there were campfires at the campsites behind the hotel; and the smoke could be smelled in the room. Normnally, the wind comes off the ocean and we wouldn't have smelled it. This time, it was an off shore breeze so we had to close the screen door and the regular door. At least we had the sound machine :)
Overall, I would recommend the Inn as the people are nice, the room was nice and the location, especially if you like to surf or play on the beach, was very good. there also is a coffee shop that serves pastries for breakfast and some sandwiches for lunch. A couple of coupons were provided at checkin to encourage us to try it.

I was so surprised to walk into an extremely clean room with very comfortable beds and a fireplace. We enjoyed renting movies at night and getting rabbit food to feed the nearby bunnies. The beach was pretty crowded but beautiful. The restaurant across the street was very good and so was the cafe down on the corner. It was not a very expensive room and the staff was so friendly. I would love to go back just to stay at this inn.

I'll get right to the point. Our stay was in March, and we were told it was winter rates...until we got the bill afterwards and it was "spring break" rates (229/night!!!). Yes, you can see the ocean from your room but there is a road and the Pelican Brewery between you and the ocean. You can hear the waves...from a cheezy radio with ocean sounds in the room. As others have said, you do indeed hear the vehicles on the road. Because it was March the traffic was lighter at night, so not a huge problem, but I could only imagine how loud it is in the summer. The take home message here is....if you enjoy an overpriced Comfort Inn with a jacuzzi then this is the pace for you! Oh, and you get two free bottles of water.....the first night of your stay. Then you pay $2 a bottle for the remainder of your stay. All that for the unreasonable price of $229/night!! There is a good part though..the beer at the Pelican Brewery is very good.
