“The best customer service we've ever encountered”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Pacific City only one night, but would definitely stay with these people again. Upon arrival, we were taken to our room (which was updated and very nice). I mentioned to the owner that I have trouble sleeping if I hear any noises. She went out of her way to accommodate us and gave us a room farther from the road, even though the road noise was unlikely to be a problem. The room was very clean and comfortable. We could tell the owners of this motel have tried to create the best experience they can for their customers. We certainly appreciated it!

There aren't many places where the manager waits up for you with the lights on and actually greets you in the parking lot to show you where to park! Oh, and she even warmed up the room for us! Great location & plenty of room. If you haven't been to Pacific City, plan a trip. Great food, beautiful beaches & friendly locals make it a worthwhile stop.

This place is dated, but clean. Judy was truly an angel after our experience across the street at the pacific City Inn. She made sure we liked the room before having us check in something the Inn across the street "did not have sufficient staff" to take us to the room before checking in. The next day, Judy did not have any rooms for us, but she was so kind, she was able to put us into the carriage house next to the owners home. What a difference in attitude and cleanliness. Thank you Judy!

Owners are very friendly and welcoming! Judy said as we checked in, "I turned on the heater for you as it seemed to be getting a bit chilly this evening and left the light on for you". Wonderful to hear as my daughter and I checked in for the weekend. The motel is dated but it is clean as a whistle and very cozy with flower baskets out front and chairs to sit on the deck. No real view of the beach but it is just a walk away & for the price it was better than I could have imagined. Rooms are large and well arranged with lots of room to put stuff away. You get everything that you would at a large chain hotel plus extras like makeup remover as another reviewer stated. Plus, the towels were bright white! Will be staying there again and refer it to anyone looking for a hotel in that area. Glad I took a chance!

Like others have said, this is a great value for a stay at the beach, and better than a motel 6 (where we will stay for budget motels when on a road trip). It was super clean and cozy, friendly and helpful staff and all the things in your room you get in a hotel - free wifi, fridge, coffee maker. It is near everything in pacific city and just a 5-10 min. walk to the beach and restaurants - including the sportsman pub and grub (really great fish and and chips), a local grocery, and the grateful bread bakery. Would definitely stay again if we don't rent a house.

We traveled before New years eve, off season. The managers went out there way to make us comfortable. Pelican brewery was nice. The tavern close to the hotel was fun. I highly recommend this place. Not fancy, but well worth it.

It's near everything in pacific city and just a quick journey to the beach!this was one of the best motels we stayed in on our 7 week trip!

Ronel, Alex and little Hudson are the proud owners of the Surf & Sand Inn. Originally from South Africa (Ronel) and France (Alex) we met in California and soon after getting married, little Hudson was born. Wanting to enjoy every single moment of life we decided to relocate our family and was fortunate to find this Inn, located in the heart of the Oregon coast in Tillamook County’s beach community of Pacific City. The Inn (formerly known as The Inn at Pacific City) has a rich history, the building dates back to 1906 and for many years served as the headquarters of the Coast Guard. For the past 22 years the Inn was ran by Doug & Patti Olsen who established a reputation for value and customer satisfaction. With our background in hospitality we are excited to continue to build on this tradition. Our 15 unit motor lodge is conveniently located within walking distance to the beach, dining, the famous Nestucca River and ample outdoor activities. We have lots of extra parking for RV’s and boats and offer bicycle storage facilities. Driving distance from Portland, Salem and the Willamite Valley this beautiful part of the State offers something special for everyone.
