Mo's west is our favorite Mo's - You get the same great chowder and food and then get to trek outside for a view of Devil's Punchbowl or a hike down to the beach.

Very disappointed in the clam chowder. I am a Mo's clam chowder fan, but at this location ( a hole in the wall of a building), it consisted of undercooked potatoes, minimal clams in a milk base. There was no thickness to it and the usual slab of butter on it was missing. I almost didn't order after seeing some chowder come out to another table and saw that is was sloshing around in the bowls and not thick as usual. Too bad...as I live only about 4 miles from this closest location, but it is only open summers and the tourist demand probably don't give them a chance to make the soup properly as this is where Devils Punch Bowl is, and no other restaurants. I will continue to go to the location in Taft as it is more consistently good.

Mo's seafood restaurants are already well known and much written up in Newport, Lincoln City and Florence, Oregon but Otter Rock is not as well known. However, I think it should be right up there as one of the best. The views and walks around the area are breathtaking and well worth the little jaunt off the 101, but the restaurant is one of the best I have had the fortune to stumble upon. My wife enjoyed the shrimp louie salad plate but I went right for the fish taco's and a bowl of their famous clam chowder. Great all the way around. Don 't dive by the Otter Rock touroff without stopping at this little gem.

Known for their "world famous" clam chowder-possibly, but certainly not the best I've tasted in the region. The other menu items that we tried were all good, but nothing to brag about. The service was good and was no problem. The best part is the setting. What a great location. Hard to beat that one. Just a short walk from the restaurant you will be able to view the rugged Oregon coast and the Devil's Punch Bowl or take the stairs down and stroll along the beach.

Why is this place famous? I'm not sure. The chowder was watery and the food did not taste fresh. You can do better.
