“Absolutely Welcoming and Beautiful”

Wonderful view of the ocean and very welcoming hosts. They have thought of everything here - coffee, tea, wine, hot chocolate. Very quiet, private getaway - perfect for couples. Everything has modern and up to date conveniences, with decor that makes you feel at home.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any of the rooms. Some have a better view than others. Most have 2-per...

For qualification, we are a couple well-traveled for 45 years, up and down both coasts and in between and abroad; and this is just the second time we felt so strongly and positively about a B&B as to publicly contribute our comments and commendation. First, let's get a description of physical setting over with by telling how Ocean House B&B is a truly lovely place on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, separated by a quaint hill top garden and connected by a thoughtful 5-minute walkway to the shore. The wild and wooly Oregon Coast overlooked by a warm and comfy inn that is overseen by two friendly and thoughtful people whose name happens to be 'Lodge.'

We felt welcome right away, and well-cared for -- actually before arrival: Over the phone, our host queried whether we had any dietary preferences - we brought up a few allergies and voila, only coveted and wholesome home-baked goods and dishes adorned the morning table. Beforehand, the afternoon was relaxation to a tea - or coffee of our choice, directions to the 24/7 homemade (and gluten-free) bakery platter - and the fridge chilling a nicely paired white wine. Our evening benefited from excellent local counsel on town-wide restaurants (we took the easy route and walked across the old coast road to a winner). After dinner, we found the Ocean House all our's, with a well-built fire surrounded by a library just right to ensconce reader's of the Oregon Coast. Our room and bed were great, and the morning view from curtains pulled back was, as well. Back to breakfast - cheerful food, coffee and hospitality - then never rushed, we were on our way to the next, and next. But motivated to describe our sensations to Tripadvisor for Ocean House, only. Its a bonafide stand-out!

Room Tip: Pick the one that's priced right for you - they're all very fine -- and private

My wife and I spent two nights at the Ocean House and stayed in "The Cottage". Everything about the Ocean House is first class. The Building itself is in beautiful shape with lots of room for relaxing and lounging and complimentary wine to enjoy while you sit by the fire. The room itself was wonderful. Totally private with a great elevated ocean view. The bed was one of the nicest mattresses we have ever slept on. The breakfasts were gourmet. Lastly but most importantly Craig and Dawn were two of the friendliest and most helpful people you will meet. Great suggestions for local things to do and places to eat. I would recommend the Ocean House for anybody that is looking to experience a relaxing get away on the Oregon Coast.

Room Tip: The Cottage is great

We have stayed at a lot of B&Bs on the coast of Oregon. This was our first time at the Ocean House. It is a beautiful location overlooking the beach. Wonderful sunsets from the living room and deck. Innkeepers Dawn and Craig are very accommodating and prepared a wonderful breakfast. They are very knowledgeable about dinning in Newport. Downtown area just a short drive a few miles away. Entrance to Yaquina Head Lighthouse is just up the road. Inn is a relatively new construction and rooms are decorated very well and are very comfortable. We had a Gas fireplace and a nice sitting area with a view of the ocean from our room. Would Highly recommend this inn.

We spent one night (unfortunately) on our way south. Dawn greeted us with a warm welcome and a tour of the house. After a busy weekend at the B & B, we had the house all to ourselves. Although we missed meeting other travelers, the peace and solitude we enjoyed was welcome. The home, the grounds and the view were spectacular. The attention to detail that Dawn and Craig put into their home is quite evident; our room was both cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed a glass of wine and, yes, a cookie while we strolled the beach and enjoyed the sunset from one of the overlooks on the property. Breakfast the next morning was served by Dawn while we sat at a table with a beautiful view of the ocean. On our next trip south we will definitely stay at the Ocean House B & B.

First and foremost Dawn and Craig are first rate innkeepers....the cooked breakfasts are Five Star. They are warm and hospitable people. The buildings are impeccable and friendly places.
The walkway to the beaches and lighthouse are unforgettable. The drive into Newport is an easy 5 minutes with a lot to see,,,,it's a major fishing port,,,,very interesting. The huge seals on the docks are a show themselves. Would go back in a Texas minute.

What an lovely place. Perfect room with a great view (see attached). The innkeepers were so kind; they made a breakfast specifically for our long biking journey needs. Towels for the beach, lots of hot water, warm cozy bed, a lovely living room and a patio with a drop dead view. I hope I can go back in the warmth of summer when I can sit on their patio and stare out at the ocean for a million hours. What a treat.
