“Bypass the service for the good food.”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

Like other reviewers have noted, the service here is iffy. The older woman who seated us seemed a bit frazzled and we had to ask for a server as nobody even came to offer us a beverage. (sidenote: they have a lounge upstairs that can mix a Blood Mary for diners in the main restaurant. The menu only mentions beer and wine.) Once she arrived, our server (also quite elderly) was very friendly and attentive. She promptly delivered the extra napkins and side of ranch we ordered and our waters and tea were refilled when only half empty.

The clam chowder was perfect - creamy with the right amount and size of clams and seasonings. The batter of the fried fish was light so the flavor of the fish came through nicely. The fish burger came with a huge filet - also perfectly battered. The fries were "eh", but I drowned them in Ranch dressing.

The views are great, but the restaurant itself is a bit outdated. With a little attention, it could be a pretty great place.

“Was actually nice!”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Read a lot of reviews before going here and many were bad. We had soups, salads, fish and fries and all our food was really good. The place was clean, the service was prompt and friendly and the weather on the deck was perfect for boat watching. The sea lions were not in but it was still a nice time had by all.

“Nice view”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Sitting out on the deck of this restaurant you can enjoy the view of the harbor and all the fishing boats coming and going. The view is the best part of this place. The food was not creative, it was prepared and served with little expectation of excellence. Just your basic come for the view, cause it's to NOT about the food place. I should have walked farther down the boardwalk.

“good food, good service and great view”
Reviewed May 16, 2014

A group of us stopped in here for lunch while shopping. We sat upstairs in the bar which had a great view of the water and the sea lions. It was a little warm but we just opened all of the windows next to our table. We ordered a pitcher of beer and some shots to start out. The shots were made very well (duck farts) and the beer was nice and cold. Our food was pretty good. I had the fish and chips and I had no complaints. Our server was friendly and our drinks and food came out in the timely manner. The prices weren't bad either. We spent a lot more than expected but that's what you get for ordering shots and beers. They could update the bathrooms though. They were pretty icky. Will definitely be back again on our next trip to the beach.

“Awful food. Had to return it”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

It's a pity that such a nice location is being currently held by this terrible restaurant. Food was undercooked and cold. Service was nice, but this does not compensate the lack of a decent cook
