First things first, this place is ALWAYS busy, so be prepared. The menu has a wide variety of local seafood. We started with the crab cakes, which were above average although not spectacular. For our entrees, I had the Fishwives' Stew, which was very good. The stew was crammed full of all kinds of incredibly fresh seafood and served with bread to mop it up. My husband had the steak and shrimp combo (which I believe was a nightly special). He was also pleased. Our service was a bit hit or miss. Still, the restaurant is nicely located on the bay front, so just settle in and enjoy a nice, leisurely meal. This is definitely one of the better dining options in Newport.
