“Very nice, near northern end of Newport”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

Being locals, we don't usually dine out in this Best Western Hotel dining room, but they were running a January special in conjunction with local radio station 100.7, so we thought we'd go. Had a perfect filet mignon with a tasty sauce reduction and Rogue Creamery blue cheese, and the lamb with its accompanying mint sauce that my wife couldn't get enough of. Our server, a european gent named Piero, took care of our every want with highly personalized service. Having traveled the world, he was quite entertaining, and the food was great.

“Like dining in San Francisco”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

We've eaten here many times and it's always been very good (unusual for a hotel restaurant), but this time was excellent! My husband had the seafood platter but I'm allergic to shellfish and not really into fried food, so I had the wild chinook salmon with veggies steamed in a fermented black bean broth. It was simply divine! The salmon was perfectly cooked and the veggies still a little crunchy. Yumm. The portion was ample to share,
so I took half of it home for lunch. All this and a view at very reasonable prices.

“Not Recommended--Food Overpriced and Not Fresh”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

The dinner menu at this restaurant is varied, and the proximity of this restaurant to the ocean makes one think that the seafood offered would be tasty (and fresh when possible). However, that was not the case when we dined there. Neither of us enjoyed our entrees or salads. One of us ordered shrimp. It didn't taste the least bit fresh, and even shrimp that has been frozen can be good. One of us ordered the filet mignon. It had little flavor and had been marinaded with some sort of strange concoction. I ordered a gin martini that seemed to have no gin in it despite the hefty price typically charged for martinis. Our bill was $80-90--too much to pay for the quality of this meal. The day after dining here we went to restaurants on the nearby Newport waterfront, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food (especially the seafood) and drinks there.

“Great breakfasts and a nice view of agate beach”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Simple but comfortable hotel cafe. They have a great and varied breakfast menu with something for everybody. We enjoyed both the banana split fruit plate and their Eggs Benedict.
